“Life in Colour” is a beautiful collection of vibrant paintings. Fiona paints with a gift for pattern, full of energy, integrating jugs and flowers into the natural rhythm of the surrounding landscape. “When I’m painting, I love to dance across the canvas, with intensely colourful brush marks, creating an image of my feelings for the landscape and interiors where I live and work.” Fiona McAlpine, 2019 Flowers and nature being at the forefront of this exhibition, Fiona finds beauty in the spaces around her. Translating her surroundings onto canvases that are full of colour and eye-catching patterns. With a selection of strong, distinctive colours, Fiona’s paintings are harmonious, and impressively expressive. BIOGRAPHY Fiona McAlpine was born in 1961 and graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art, from Goldsmiths College, London. Fiona paints with a gift for pattern, integrating jugs and flowers into the natural rhythm of the Welsh landscape. She has been influenced by 20th century British Artists, and with her instinctive and colourful palette, she paints vibrant and decorative oils depicting flowers from both her garden and her kitchen table.
