Tony T-Rex is the last dinosaur on Earth, and he’s here to give the inside scoop on what real dinosaurs were actually like, recounting the life and times of the twenty most memorable dinosaurs ever to exist. Casting his memory back to the beginning of the Jurassic to the end of the Cretaceous period, Tony’s album includes his family’s proudest moments and most precious memories, as well as previously unpublished family secrets. It’s an exclusive and you heard it here first, straight from the dino’s mouth.
CERATOSAURUS HORACE ‘THE HORN’ USA This is a family secret no one likes to talk about. My cousin Horace was a ceratosaur who liked us to call him ‘The Horn’. Ceratosaurs were a lot smaller than other carnivores so they tended to hunt together in packs. One time, after a tough week catching very little prey, Horace was so ravenous that he took a bite out of one of his pals.
TOE-TALLY DIFFERENT Horace was good at running because he had 4 toes on each foot rather than 3. His extra toe claws acted like the spikes on running shoes.
BABY SNATCHER
24
Ceratosaurs stole the eggs of baby dinosaurs before they hatched. This meant Horace wasn’t often asked to babysit.

Why is a flamingo pink? Can a parrot talk? Is a bald eagle really bald? The latest book in Yuval Zommer’s wildly popular and vibrantly illustrated ‘Big Book’ series answers these flighty questions and many more. It starts by exploring the bird family tree, explaining why different species of birds have different beaks and feathers, and why some birds migrate and travel vast distances every year. Subsequent pages are dedicated to specific types of bird, their variety and habitats. Readers can play search and find in the pictures, too, as they hunt for the ‘special egg’. The book closes by inviting young bird spotters to protect birds where they live and make their gardens bird friendly. This is a big, beautiful book to look at again and again.

Stay, Benson! Thereza Rowe Flick’s dog Benson is a very good boy... or so Flick thinks. When Flick leaves for school, she tells him, ‘Stay, Benson!’. Instead, Benson races out the front door and chases a cat into the back garden, over the fence and into the park, where he chases a squirrel. A ball catches his eye and he follows it into the pond – and then he runs, dripping wet, through the middle of a picnic lunch, stealing a sausage! The picnickers shout ‘GO HOME, BENSON!’. He races back across town, and arrives home just as Flick returns from school. ‘Have you been a good boy, Benson? Did you stay?’ Only the reader really knows what Benson, the naughty dog, has been doing all day…
