The high-resolution image data is evaluated by using the in-house developed AERO-Software Package. Damage detection and classification is largely automated with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The subsequent automation of data transfer to the customer’s software environment and the automatically generated reports enable efficient and objective reporting on the condition of the wind turbines and potential repairs needed.

New testing method to detect and manage microbiological contamination
FUELSTAT ® from Conidia Bioscience is a rapid onsite test to detect microbiological contamination in middle distillate aviation and diesel fuels compliant to ASTM D8070. Using antibody technology FUELSTAT ® only searches for specific fuel degrading microbes, ignoring others that may be present but cause no harm to fuel systems. This greatly reduces the risk of cross contamination, a major issue with traditional testing methods. FUELSTAT ® also provides greater adherence to ASTM D6469 enabling organisations to make more efficient and cost-effective operational decisions; especially when working in remote areas.
Simple to use and completed onsite in 15 minutes FUELSTAT ® comes with a free to use digital app, FUELSTAT ® Result, for immediate verification, recording and sharing of results anytime, anywhere.

In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, Dräger has received an order from the British government to deliver respiratory protection masks (FFP3). The delivery of the order will start in 2020 and will stretch until the end of 2021. The expected net sales are roughly EUR100 million.
A mask production facility will be set up in the UK, in the Blyth area of Northumberland. There, Dräger has had a development and production site for respiratory protection technology for firefighters and industry for over 50 years.
This is in addition to the existing production network in Sweden and South Africa and the recently decided new production sites in France and the US.
The investment in the expansion of production capacities across all five production sites will require a middouble-digit million euro amount in the 2020 financial year.

Intertek launches Protek
Intertek, the FTSE 100 total quality assurance provider, has launched COVID-19 surface hygiene testing for the UK offshore oil and gas market as part of its Protek offering – the world’s first health, safety and wellbeing assurance programme for people, workplaces and public spaces. The swabbing and testing of surfaces for the presence of COVID-19 is an essential part of any strategy to verify that cleaning practices are fit for purpose work of the energy sector’s most
and have reduced the risk of employees contracting the virus. This is particularly important on offshore installations where there is a high volume of personnel in an enclosed space. Initial studies have shown that COVID-19 can survive for significant periods of time on certain surfaces and it is for these reasons that an effective verification programme is needed. Intertek utilises Reverse Transcription quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTqPCR), the same method used by governments worldwide for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Mobile test kits allow Intertek’s experts to analyse swabs immediately after sampling offshore, with actionable results available within five hours of sample collection.
The new surface testing capability complements the existing suite of services provided to the sector and allows Intertek to deliver total quality assurance to employers in increasingly challenging operating conditions. There is a growing need in the global oil and gas industry for independent E&P services, expertise and specialist knowledge to provide third party verification of the safety of assets. The UK exploration and production team supports the oil and gas industry from strategic locations across the UK, providing analytical testing and knowledge-based consultancy services.
