QUIKSILVER PRESENTS : MAD WAX The year was ’87. The film was Mad Wax. And the vibe was simply too good not to revisit. Designed with a level of authenticity that only an old surf movie can provide, Quiksilver’s Mad Wax collection is a modernized strand of the brand’s DNA. The late 80s and early 90s marked a new chapter in surf history. Boards got smaller. Turns got bigger. Music got louder and clothing got bolder. These were the days when surfers started wearing pink and purple. It didn’t matter how clothes fit. All that mattered is how they looked. And suddenly, surfwear became a trend — even far from the beach. For those of us who weren’t lucky enough to grab a vintage piece out of their dad’s closet, Quiksilver re-visited their legendary archives to bring it all back. We proudly present MAD WAX, a curated selection of wearable yet eye-catching pieces inspired by the cult movie of the same name. You’ll find gritty flannels with a dash of moon-washed denim, oversized sweatshirts in bright colours, casual t-shirts with retro-infused prints and the comfiest cord-shorts ever. Aesthetics from the past are re-designed for the future in this fusion of art, surf culture and fashion history. Available January 2018.
