In This Issue . . .
It’s time to March forward into spring with this month’s issue of Living Well magazine. And it just so happens that “It’s Always Spring at AIM” as alluded to in an article that examines new beginnings for improved health.
National Nutrition Month takes place in March, a time of awareness covered from an ingredient perspective in “Nutrition That Works!” Providing supplemental food that takes dietary intake to a whole new level to improve people’s health is our nutritional AIM.
Taking AIM nutrition from an early age instills a habit that can last a healthy lifetime. “Our Barley Baby” tells a charming testimonial submitted by Charmine and Daniel Thompson, AIM Customers in Prince George, British Columbia about their son, Christopher, who enjoys green milk in the morning. “The Green Scoop!” on page 7 features Facebook posts from those whose lives have been changed for the better by taking BarleyLife.
One area of the body that gets special attention this month is the digestion system, focusing on the microbes involved in “Gut Life.” (Spoiler Alert: You can expect to see more articles about the microbiome in upcoming magazines given the integral part that this inner ecosystem plays in human health.) “The Value of Lymphatic Cleansing with Herbal Release” on page 8 details detoxifying benefits for another vital body system.
March Living Well also features a fresh focus on Composure on page 11, a blend of herbs that contribute to stress relief through their botanically relaxing effects on the body. Composure is something needed in all of our lives. More information about this herbal gem can be viewed in the video series detailed in “InfoClips From AIM.” on page 10.

Rounding things off is the product feature, “Spring Into Summer with BarleyLife Xtra Pineapple” for a tropical twist of taste. And the March crossword puzzle offers another word challenge, culled from the pages of this month’s Living Well magazine. Read away!
Nutrition That Works!
March is National Nutrition Month, focusing awareness of the many health benefits afforded by wholesome food. Every month since April 1982, The AIM Companies™ has provided a key to unlocking the power of supplemental food: nutrition that works.
Keeping it simple but phenomenally nutritious, AIM carries a variety of whole-food powders using all-natural, plant-sourced ingredients that create BarleyLife, BarleyLife Xtra, CoCoa LeafGreens, Just Carrots and RediBeets.
Barley leaves, arugula, cocoa beans, beets, broccoli sprouts, carrots, kale, spinach and Swiss chard all work to keep you on the good side of health. Supplementing your food intake with the powders of these ultranutritious ingredients significantly increases your intake of nutrients and phytonutrients.
Digging In
Beginning at the beginning with BarleyLife, over four decades ago barley grass was determined to be one of the most nutritious plants on the planet. But humankind is not physically able to graze on grass and assimilate its abundant nutrients and phytonutrients, so AIM unlocked its nutritional density in an easily digested juice powder.
BarleyLife’s ingredient combination of the juice powder of young barley plants, brown rice oligodextrin and kelp delivers the essence of nutrition that works. Its green nourishment provides nutrients such as carbohydrates, minerals, protein
and vitamins along with a rich source of chlorophyll, enzymes, antioxidants and other beneficial phytonutrients, including lutonarin, saponarin and superoxide dismutase.
Even though phytonutrients are plant compounds that are incredibly good at protecting you and keeping your body healthy, they are not considered essential, life-giving nutrients that have daily recommended intakes. Getting phytonutrients is generally relegated to a daily intake of around 4½ cups of colorful fruits and vegetables.
AIM’s whole-food powders made from colorful fruits and vegetables can amplify your nutrient and phytonutrient levels. Digging in to their plantsourced ingredients is a daily opportunity to dig in to nutrition that works.
Gut Life
The exploration of the Earth over land, under sea and beyond into outer space has revealed so much about our planet and the universe. At the same time, there remains even more that is in the realm of the unknown and not fully understood.
Looking inward, the same can be said when examining our physical beings through the history of experience and the sciences. One of the many fascinating aspects of what remains unknown involves the phenomenal microcosm of microbes on and within us.
Microbes in the Human Body
Archaea
Examples include:
Methanobrevibacter
smithii, Methanos
phaera stadtmanae
single-cell organisms
cell walls made of sugars
no nucleus
asexual reproduction
Bacteria
Examples include:
Lactobacillus gasseri
Bifidobacterium
longum

cell walls made of proteins and sugars

It took about four centuries following the discovery of microscopic creepy-crawlies in and on the human body to realize that not all of these microorganisms were pathogens, but, in fact, something akin to another organ that plays a pivotal role in keeping the body healthy. Some call this ecosystem the microbiome while others say microbiota, which

is simply a reflection of the newness of the positive health perspective on body microbes.1
The majority of microbiome research focuses on bacteria, which have been identified as dominant among the estimated one trillion microbes in the human body. A substantial population and diversity of bacteria maintain optimal health of the gut, providing intestinal homeostasis.2
The microbiome has a major effect on overall health as a result of the activity generated by good bacteria.3 Although there is much more to be discovered about these beneficial microbes, what is known is that good bacteria:
• advance human development
• protect organs of the body
• promote food digestion
• produce essential nutrients such as B vitamins and vitamin K
• prevent potential disruption by harmful bacteria
• signal specific immune cells to produce antiviral proteins
• generate postbiotics such as butyrate: inflammation-reducing, short-chain fatty acid
• help maintain the central nervous system
• produce neurotransmitters, enabling communication between the gut and the brain
As for that gut-brain connection, some of the most recent research hones in on how microbiome imbalance (dysbiosis) can negatively affect a person’s mental state of health.4 Furthermore, gut dysbiosis has also been associated with a number of immune-mediated, metabolic and neurodegenerative health conditions, calling attention to the importance of maintaining gut homeostasis.5
AIM Probiotics and Prebiotics
The Role of Nutrition
It’s no surprise that when it comes to the gut, nutrition plays an integral role in supporting a healthy microbiome.6 Evidence points to choosing a wholesome, mostly plant-based diet that includes probiotics (good bacteria) and prebiotics (food for good bacteria). Fermented foods that are probiotic include kimchi, miso, sauerkraut, sourdough bread and yogurt.
Fiber-rich foods that provide prebiotics include asparagus, spring onion, beetroot, chickpeas, lentils, watermelon, grapefruit, nectarines, oats, rye bread, cashews and pistachio nuts.
AIM nutrition that works can help to increase the population and diversity of good bacteria along with the food that nurtures their growth and beneficial activity.
Daily use of supplemental probiotics and prebiotics from AIM is a convenient way to support your microbiome, contributing good bacteria from FloraFood and the food they eat from Fit ’n Fiber
Each capsule of FloraFood contains 3 billion live cells from 3 strains of good bacteria, another great reason for making this dietary supplement your probiotic choice.
Each serving of Fit ’n Fiber gives you 8 grams of prebiotic fiber from acacia, konjac and guar gum for a selection of food that good bacteria thrive on, fueling their growth and the beneficial activity they provide.
Taken together, the combination of FloraFood and Fit ’n Fiber delivers a synbiotic duo to help maintain the ecosystem of microbes that work to support your overall health.
Our Barley Baby
For as far back as I can remember in my childhood, my mom, Joyce Royal (now Gold) was involved with The AIM Companies, and she became an AIM Director. We always had the Garden Trio in our home.
My mother was introduced to AIM by Chairman’s Club Directors George and Muriel McPherson. George and Muriel are really members of our family and the “great grandparents” of our son, Christopher, who was born on July 18, 2022.
Even after a few months of my mom suggesting BarleyLife for Christopher, I sat on the idea and pondered it. Muriel had always encouraged us to drink our BarleyLife for all of its benefits. A chat with her assured me that it would be okay to give him a little bit to start with. My husband also supported this. Muriel has always steered us in the right direction, so we never doubt her recommendations.
After some trial and error, we worked out just the right amount and began giving Christopher some BarleyLife in his morning bottle of milk. This has become a daily routine. He just loves it, drinking the whole bottle without complaint. Christopher is alert, happy and sleeping well.
My husband and I have comfort knowing he is getting so many nutrients at such a young age. We are firm believers of good, wholesome nutrition. BarleyLife is such a great product, so now we are all taking it again.
Many thanks to Muriel, my mom and her husband, Dan, for encouraging us in raising our wee “Barley Baby.” I am so grateful I took a chance and will never look back. We have a happy, healthy little man. And thank you, AIM!

The Value of Lymphatic Cleansing with Herbal Release
The name of this dietary supplement says a lot about what happens when you take the product: Herbal Release. A total of nine herbs and two herbal extracts released into your body delivers a bounty of botanicals that cleanses and detoxifies your lymphatic system.
Maximizing the benefits of this stand-alone natural health product, each hardshell capsule disintegrates thirty minutes after consuming. Delaying the herbal release allows the eleven botanicals to further penetrate your digestive system and promote a lymphatic cleanse.
Your lymphatic system acts like a drainage structure that maintains
your body’s liquid balance through a network of organs, tissues, vessels and nodes. By regulating the flow of fluid known as lymph, which leaks from blood vessels, your lymphatic system recirculates any nutrients back into your bloodstream while filtering toxins for removal, which helps your immune system. Herbal Release’s cleansing and detoxifying action from 11 botanicals works to support your lymphatic and immune systems.
Scheduling Herbal Release
Herbal Release usage is different from other AIM products. Take it for 7 days, then take a 7-day break. Use your calendar to highlight alternate weeks for using Herbal Release for a schedule of one week on, one week off.
A 2-capsule daily serving for seven days every other week would make the 60 capsules in one bottle of Herbal Release last for eight weeks for a monthly cost of $11.00 at the Member price of $22.00 and $11.75 at the Customer price of $23.50. And at the end of 8 weeks, you will have done 4 separate weeks of lymphatic cleanses and still have 4 capsules left. It all adds up to good value for cleansing your lymphatic system naturally with Herbal Release.
Note: The U.S. formulation of Herbal Release is different from the Canadian formula product. Canada’s Herbal Release (NPN 80031729) promotes bowel movements, helps to cleanse the intestinal tract and supports the immune system.
It’s Always Spring at AIM
The spring season begins the cycle of new growth in Northern regions, where the growing season is limited to a fraction of the year. When the days begin to get a little warmer with increasingly longer hours of sunlight, it’s a signal to the life waiting within cold soil that may still be covered in a blanket of snow.
If you have already made AIM a longterm lifestyle choice, given that spring is a season of new beginnings, it can be a time for changing things up a bit by adding AIM whole-food powders or dietary supplements that you may have never tried before.
If BarleyLife is your go-to product, why not make BarleyLife Xtra Pineapple a mid-week treat?

The outcome is a nutrientdense, whole-food powder that can be enjoyed season after season throughout the year. The same time frame can be used for the entire harvest that makes up the AIM lineup of nutrition that works.
If you are new to AIM, then you are entering a season of improved health that can be maintained by taking supplemental food such as BarleyLife on a regular basis. For many, the day they embrace AIM nutrition as a lifestyle choice becomes a milestone, marking a time of favorable transformation in their lives. And it all begins simply by taking an initial step that springs you in the direction of well-being.

InfoClips
AIM has produced a wide variety of printed and digital product information, including datasheets, podcasts and videos. Some are lengthy reads or listens while others are short and sweet in a video format. A whole lot of useful information can be featured in a video clip. That’s the entire point of the current InfoClip series of product videos viewable on AIM’s YouTube channel: youtube.com/user/aimusers.
Since the August 2022 launch of InfoClips that began with BarleyLife and BioVivify, additional videos have been created through the teamwork of Quality Assurance personnel and the video department at AIM headquarters, nearly completing the entire lineup of individual products that are the foundation of nutrition that works.
Multipurpose InfoClips
Whether you are a Customer who takes some of the AIM products or a Member who also has a business for sharing their benefits, InfoClips provide clear, concise product information that uses only a snippet of your valuable time.
From AIM
As a Customer, you might be looking to add something new to the products you are already taking. By going to AIM’s YouTube channel on your phone, tablet or computer, you can easily access the InfoClip series to find out how you can benefit from taking products such as CranVerry+ or Proancynol 2000 along with the uniqueness of each dietary supplement. Composure is a dietary supplement that helps you stay on the relaxed side of life during times of stress.
In Possession of Composure
When you feel calm and in control of your emotions, you possess composure. Life’s stressors can take away those peaceful feelings, making you ill at ease, worried and sleep deprived. Keep a bottle of AIM Composure on hand to recover and repossess your composure.
