The Fatigue Solution

Go to the store, and you’ll see a multitude of vitamins, herbs, and other supplements touted as energy boosters. Some are even added to soft drinks and other foods. But there’s little or no scientific evidence that socalled ‘magical’ energy bullets actually work. Over the last decade or so the popularity of products promising to boost your physical and mental energy levels have soared. Here are a few tips to making sure YOU take control over YOUR energy levels:

BOOSTING YOUR ENERGY LEVELS – NATURALLY! Fatigue is one of the main complaints of many of my patients. Many people fall into the trap of drinking more coffee to stay awake, eating sugary snacks to ‘boost’ energy levels or resorting to some wonder drug that will launch you into action!

1. Manage your STRESS!

No-one can eliminate or reduce stress in your life, but you can learn to manage it appropriately. Firstly, take some time to log what areas in your life are stressful and which ones you can control more effectively. If you manage stress better, you will free up plenty of mental and physical energy to dedicate to doing things that bring you pleasure and comfort.

AIM Composure is a supplement that is made up of plant extracts and herbs that have a beneficial effect on the nervous system.

2. Prioritize your commitments

Over-committing yourself to other individuals or events that do not add value to your life is a major source of fatigue. If you constantly feel obligated to fulfill other people’s expectations, then you will never win this battle.

3. Exercise

As I have already mentioned, starting a regular and sustainable exercise routine will go a LONG way to making you cope better, improve your health and allow you to improve your own energy levels by embarking on a regular and sustainable exercise routine. An extra benefit is to be gained if you are doing something you ENJOY!

AIM Peak Endurance contains all the vital electrolytes as well as the actual energy molecule, ATP, to help provide energy to the body. As we age, our natural production of ATP wanes, so providing another source, may help the body perform more efficiently.

4. Quit Smoking and Drinking Alcohol

There is no better time of the year to make radical changes than NOW. Both smoking and alcohol rob your

body of many essential nutrients that would otherwise be channeled towards energy production and detoxification.

5. Improve your quality of SLEEP.

If you do not get enough sleep, no amount of caffeine, energy-boosting supplements or anything else will be able to make you feel less tired. Sleep is essential. Most people do best on a minimum of 8 hours uninterrupted sleep per night but many are functional with slightly less. If you do suffer from insomnia, then see a therapist who can help you correct your circadian rhythm, adjust your diet and help you set your own clock so the quality of your sleep improves.

AIM Composure, as mentioned above, has a formulation designed to help you relax and support a healthy nervous system. Sleep will be much improved if relaxation can be achieved.

6. Eat for Energy and Vitality

In order to avoid the ‘dips’ in blood glucose levels, which can create sudden feelings of lethargy, avoidance of sugar is a must in this instance, as increases in blood glucose will stimulate an insulin response and an excessive response of insulin will cause blood glucose levels to plummet. Eating foods that contain plenty of natural fibre is the answer. It is also important to include healthy fats such as those found in flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, olives and avocados. Fatty fish such as mackerel, herring, salmon and trout are rich in these essential fats. If you do not eat enough of these foods, then it may be beneficial to supplement this vital food group. AIMega provides a concentrated source of essential fatty acids and may help boost the inflammation fighting pathways in the body. Make sure you get enough green leafy vegetables, which, amongst other nutrients, are sources of folic acid, minerals and other vitamins. If you feel that you are not getting enough green leafy vegetables, you may want to try out AIM CoCoa LeafGreens to help fulfil this brief. This powerful superfood will literally provide all your green vegetable requirements in a few scoops of delicious powder.

7. Cut down on caffeine

This is because excess amounts of caffeine, especially if taken when you are already tired in order to stimulate wakefulness, will cause an increase in cortisol levels, which increase the negative response to stress.

8. Stay well hydrated

Not drinking enough water will lead to fatigue and a lack of energy. Make sure you also get sufficient electrolytes, which also help to prevent fatigue.

9. Look after your gut

Make sure you have enough fibre in your diet to support a healthy gut microbiome. Supplements such as AIM FloraFood help to keep your gut bugs happy.

10. Eat sufficient good quality protein.

Protein-rich foods include all animal foods (meat, chicken, fish and dairy products), as well as eggs, legumes (chickpeas, beans, lentils), raw nuts and seeds. If you do not eat enough protein-rich foods, then taking AIM ProPeas will ensure an adequate supply of good quality, vegetarian protein.

You say Turmeric, I say Curcumin

Many cultures around the world spice up their lives with the underground stems of turmeric, a flowering plant in the ginger family. Native to Southeast Asia, turmeric has been used for centuries to flavour foods, treat health disorders and dye material with its golden-yellow hue.

You have to dig a little deeper into turmeric to find the main source of not only its distinctive colour but its health benefits: curcumin. As one of the curcuminoids found only in turmeric, curcumin is a phytonutrient with antioxidant properties. Most research focuses on curcumin because it is turmeric’s most active compound. This is one of many reasons why curcumin extract is an ingredient in the GinkgoSense formulation.

Effective Curcumin

The high-quality curcumin extract you get with GinkgoSense makes it an effective ingredient in comparison to the inexpensive turmeric powder often used in supplements.

With the popularity of curcumin increasing over the years, it is important to know which is most effective in providing health benefits, such as detoxifying the body, reducing joint pain and improving cognitive function and memory.

Improving Curcumin Absorption

The black pepper extract in GinkgoSense provides a compound called piperine, which makes curcumin 2000 times more bioavailable. Piperine inhibits the breakdown of curcumin by the liver, which increases blood levels of curcumin and prevents this beneficial nutrient from being excreted from the body.

Along with being a synergistic match for curcumin, black pepper provides anti-inflammatory properties and supports the digestive system. References: bit.ly/CurcuminHealth bit.ly/Curcuminoids bit.ly/Curcumin_Pepper
