Belvedere Structure School Project 2015

The task was to design a scheletal belvedere structure in addition to a masive one, designed previously.

The idea was to have a solid structure as a center and an envelope to represent the aestethic part. I chose the theme of dematerialization, so I generated a vertical path which leads to the belvedere point.

A home for Dexter Morgan School Project 2016 As I was just like the stage designer of this character’s home, I created a space which revolves around his story and his way of living. The space highlights Dexter’s main personality feature: duality. This is pointed out by the two identhical volumes. The outside-inside path represents his ability to shift from an extroverted, social and friendly human being to an introverted, intelligent psichopat. The two volumes have a simple form which suggests order, meticulosity and attention for detalis, all of these being part of his personality. The ground floor is opened up to the garden,

being the public space of the house, while his private area is hidden upstairs, zenital enlightened, so he has no connection to neighbours and outside space at all. “My name is Dexter Morgan. I don’t know what made me the way I am but whatever it was left a... hollow place inside. People fake a lot of human interactions, but I feel like I’ve faked them all and I fake them very well. And that’s my burden, I guess.”

Raccoons Habitat School Project Team: Arina Moga, Daria Maria Kocsis Location: Zoo, Timisoara 2016 After visiting and analizing the raccoons habitat at the Zoo, we came up with the ideea of a journey into the daily life the little animals. We generated an inside/outside, up/down interactive path around the habitat to make the visitors change places with the raccoons, so they would experience, somehow, what being at the zoo feels like for the raccoons.

This way, the visitor sees from the platfrom just as raccoons do from up in the trees, he gets inside the nest and he experiences the coziness of their private space, he watches the animals through a fence, just as the raccoons watch visitors day by day.

Individual Seasonal Home School Project Timisoara 2016

The space was meant to be used by two people, as a second home, as a place to get away from the daily routine. It is an althernative for the usual urban way of living. The idea was to have a public-private space tranzition that would guide you to the garden, keeping you outdoor most of the time. The house has a semi-public space on the ground

floor and a private one upstairs. The interior has only the basic functions, such as a kitchenette, bathroom, a place to sleep and a place to eat, which is opened up to the garden. The path and the relatios between spaces are ecouraging life outdoors, gardening, this being the hobby of the family and the reason why they would come live here.

Collective Housing Team: Arina Moga, Daria Maria Kocsis Location: Timisoara 2017

Considering the three young active families who would live there, we created spaces shaped by directions, which gives dinamism to the space. From the first step on the site, you are guided from one place to the other. Each of these spaces marked by points of sight can have different functions or can be used all at once

when the families get togheter. There are exterior and interior paths which put you through a public/private filter, so that the public spaces of the house are opened up to the front side of the garden, and the private ones to the back side.

C.A.S.A Annual Competition for Students of Architecture “Togheter rather than apart” First Mention Team: Arina Moga, Daria Maria Kocsis Location: Arad 2017

In th process of analyzing the site and designing a home for the seven families, our mind couldn’t get away from the history of the site. We decided to keep alive the memory of the previous exising building by creating outdoor spaces around the remains of the past where the families could meet and spend time togheter, as a small comunity. The new buildings where placed so they would generate a path which leads from one point of sight to the other, creating certain views of the site. We also kept most of the invasive vegetation which existed on the site as a reminder of how nature took the demolished building’s place and demanded its rights.

“They’re all gone. All of them, even Irina, my dearest friend. She took away her dolls and piano too. She left me here and now I’m struggling to survive. My walls are gone, my chimney is gone, all I have left are a few bricks: my stairs, parts of my foundation and an arcade resembling the old me. Meanwhile, I got used to all this emptiness. At least I have this vegetation embracing me, it

makes me feel alive. Although, I admit it felt better having Irina running up and down my stairs, singing her heart out. I was so proud everytime she stood in front of my gate and said I’m hers. But this was a long time ago. Now, there’s some men here, building something. I keep telling them I can’t t divide myself into seven pieces, but nobody’s listening.

[…] Finally, everything makes sense. Seeing these families gathering around the fire place, their children running by the fountain, playing hide and seek with me… and all those birds tweeting around the bird bath gives life to this fairytale garden.

All those little things bring so much joy to my heart. These families and their homes fill up the void I was left with. They tell my story and keep me alive by taking care of what’s left of me, as I’m part of them.”

Sebes v3.0 & Sebes v4.0 Coordinator: Drăgan Dragomir

Sebes v3.0 and Sebes v4.0 are part of a volunteering program structured as an annual summer workshop for architecture students who aims to protect and preserve the citadel of Sebes. The third edition, v3.0 had a social character. There were organised meetings with the people in each neighbourhood, giving them the oportunity to express thier opinion about their neighbourhood. At the v4.0 (2017) workshop the students explored the surroundings of the Sebes river in order to generate potential solutions for developing the area.(work in progress)

Each year, in october, the results of the workshop are presented to the community in the form of an exhibiton. The project was also submmited to the Architecture Annual (2014) and Biennial (2016) held in Timisoara. https://www.facebook.com/upsebes/ http://competition.betacity.eu/ro/preselectie/ social/
