INTERVIEWS Interview with Amit Shabi
Interview with
Amit Shabi What was your first photography experience? My first meaningful photographic experience was in the darkroom. Where the appearance of an image on paper in the developer tray made me see the language and the endless possibilities of self expression by freezing a moment.

to photograph? My biggest interest in photography is the people. Therefore, the location is less important for me. My focus is on the people and the story that I’m telling, of course its great if the background is photogenic, but it isn’t the most important thing for me.
Do you feel that public reaction to photography has changed over the course of your work? In my experience as a photojournalist, the value of images What is your favorite color? has decreased dramatically

The Shinny By Brant Slomovic
The Shinny Project is a long-term documentary work that explores the tradition of shinny hockey as part of the fabric of Canadian identity. Shinny is the way we survive our long, cold winters. For many it defines our childhood. for others it is way of connecting with an

adopted land and culture. It is so iconic and historic a pastime that we’ve chosen to place it on our currency as emblematic of who we are as a nation. Importantly, shinny unites Canadians across age, gender, race, colour, and socioeconomic status.
TWO
By Guy Cohen Last summer (2015) I came out of the closet, a process which brought with it many questions and searches, among them the search for a relationship. Like everyone, I signed up for the LGBT community applications, and started scrolling. The reality I saw in them was not simple, actually very difficult. I got a very
negative impression, weird and uncomfortable. I began this project in order to see, understand, and prove to myself that the impression created in my head was not real. The couples I photographed showed me their simple moments, their small intimacy, and their daily life. they turned my difficulty into relief.

Oren Ziv - Disposable In the Disposable project Oren Ziv, an established photojournalist, has put his professional cameras aside, and used disposable film cameras to capture unique moments during or between the actual news events that Ziv was covering. The use of disposable cameras helped Oren to see beyond the daily news events and the way he usually covers them. The unique perspective of a disposable camera offers a comic relief of the hard news happening around the frames he captured on the film roll. It gives the viewer a chance to see behind the scenes of the photojournalists’ world.
RUGBY
Ilia Yefimovich focused on practise sessions of Israeli Women’s sevens Rugby National Team.Rugby sevens originated in Melrose,Scotland in the 1880s; the Melrose Sevens tournament is still played annually. The game is popular at all levels, with amateur and club tournaments generally held in the summer months. Sevens is one of the most well distributed forms of rugby, and is popular in parts of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and especially in the South Pacific. This project shows Israeli official 7s Woman Rugby team practising ahead of the first round of Women’s Rugby Trophy tournament.
After years of covering the hard news of the reality of Jerusalem, and caught up in personal crises, Ohad Zwigenberg has taken himself out of his daily surroundings, far from the Old City’s Damascus Gate and from the Government quarters, and flew over to Cuba to feast his eyes, and his lenses, on fresh sights. In desperate need of a change of place and a break from work, Ohad took a photographic vacation, challenging his view with something different, new, and unfamiliar.
