Ardmore Development Authority I want to thank the City of Ardmore and our community partners for what has been a dynamic year in 2014 in many areas. The ADA is happy to be one of the organizations helping take Ardmore to higher levels as a community. We took the time in 2014 to take several important fundamental steps for the organization. Most importantly, we worked hard to reach a major development agreement for the long-term development of the Ardmore Airpark. This is in close connection with over $25 million in new Railroad investments that provide a powerful business supply chain and logistics platform. There is much work to do in 2015 to launch this project. We have much work to do in order to realize this potential. Another focus in 2014 was the survey of the Ardmore Airpark to identify where key investments need to be made towards its continued use going into its 7th decade of service. We now have over half a dozen projects in formation that address: - Sewage treatment (thank you City of Ardmore) $OPRVW OLQHDU IHHW RI IHQFLQJ DURXQG WKH UXQZD\V WR SURYLGH VDIHW\ RI ÀLJKW - Hangar upgrades and new construction - The condition of Aircraft Taxiways and Aprons - The demolition and reconstruction of obsolete buildings

The ATA coordinated a visit with the civic leaders of three North Texas communities in December to share ideas on their process in creating a destination identity. Ideas will be developed in conjunction with efforts by or other partners such as the City of Ardmore, Main Street, ABC and others to create a destination draw. Tourism is a vital component of our local and state economy. It is essential that we all work to attract visitors from around the world to our communities. Southern Oklahoma has an abundance of natural beauty, history, culture and hospitality. It is our role as Southern Oklahoma’s premier community to promote and encourage people to visit. See More‌Do More‌Ardmore! Sincerely,

Doing the Most Good The Festival of Lights Regional Park Drive Thru completed its 14th year on December 30, 2014. Once again, the holiday event was a tremendous success! One of the state’s premier holiday destinations, the Regional Park Drive Thru exceeded last year’s number in both the sponsorships for displays as well as the donations receive by those visiting the park. The Festival of Lights introduces the season with the annual Festival of Lights Auction, which was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Ardmore Convention Center. This event is now in its 18th year. The Festival of Lights Auction was initiated by the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce to raise funds to place Christmas lights on public buildings. The success of the event resulted in lighting many of the buildings downtown, the Carter County Courthouse and now the monies raised are used

For the last 100 years the Chamber has been a force for growing the City of Ardmore. It has created an environment for success which is second to none for Chambers our size. The Chamber’s promotion of our community has led a variety of businesses to locate in Ardmore. For many years, civic leaders have united efforts through the Chamber to move our community into prosperity and sustained growth. It is an honor for me to follow a long line of community leaders who have dedicated their time and efforts to the future prosperity of Ardmore.
The goal in 2015 is to “Embrace” and grow these Chamber initiatives and activities. Your involvement will allow our community to achieve the greatness for which we are known. The Chamber will unveil its 2015 Plan of Action at the Annual Chamber Banquet. A video that highlights the plan will be available on the chamber website www.ardmore.org next week. 7KH &KDPEHU ,QWURGXFHV 7KH Human Resource Hotline A compliance checklist for human resource issues spanned three pages and over 35 federal and 40 state statutes that deal with employment law for businesses with less than 25 employees. For those employers with over 25 employees, those numbers will more than double! Small employers today face overwhelming employment compliance requirements. Most of these same businesses do not have a Human Resource Specialist and this function is just “one more thing” for them to undertake. Small businesses, with less than 25 employees make up over 80% of the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce members. Providing support and resources to assist our small employers prompted the Chamber to create a Human Resource Hotline for our members. The Chamber partnered with Employment Lawyers Jim Priest and Leah Avey to provide services to Chamber members at no cost. Mr. Priest notes, “What most people want from their attorney is practical, plain spoken advice and creative solutions to problems at a reasonable cost. For over thirty years we’ve been helping people untie the knots in their legal and human resource challenges.” The services to be included in the Human Resource Hotline include:
