WELCOME Our 2013 Subscription Season has launched and there’s an impressive line up ahead. In March, one of the world’s most remarkable operatic sopranos, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa (p.21), will fill the Arts Theatre with some of the most glorious vocals you’ll ever hear. We then welcome back DanceNorth with three incredible contemporary dance pieces in Triple Bill (p.22). Can you imagine the Star Wars theme performed as an a cappella vocal harmony? Australia’s most beloved vocal ensemble, The Idea of North, will present unique and breathtaking arrangements of some of the world’s most memorable movie songs in March (p.23). The rest of the 2013 Subscription Season is filled with world-class performances including Bell Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, the smash hit Ballet Revolución, a powerful adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, Oz Opera’s Don Giovanni and many more. Visit our website or pick up a brochure for full details. Gold Coast City Gallery will welcome a touring exhibition of the Basil Sellers Art Prize 3 from February. This $100,000 prestigious prize is one of Australia’s richest art awards and encourages artists to interpret sporting culture through art. See you at the show.
