elcome to Bass Performance Hall. On behalf of the Performing Arts Fort Worth staff and Board of Directors, I thank you for joining us.

Summer is in full swing here in Cowtown, and for many of us this means triple digit temperatures, filling up our calendars with activities, and family vacations. But I want you to think back to a simpler time, when summer simply meant no school, longer days, driving around with your friends, staying out from sunup to sundown and fewer responsibilities. While that may feel like it was yesterday, or in another lifetime, summer is always a great reminder to make the most of your days before it’s time to say farewell to the season.

I personally love the sense of nostalgia that I feel every time summer comes around, and I’m sure many of you share that sentiment about tonight’s act. It gives me great pleasure to welcome to the Bass Hall stage for the very first time, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Known for their top-shelf musicianship and timeless hits like “Mr. Bojangles,” “Long Hard Road (The Sharecroppers Dream),” “Modern Day Romance” and “Fishin’ in the Dark,” this iconic group has been entertaining audiences for over six decades. We are so glad they decided to stop into Fort Worth before they bid goodbye to their days on the road.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour kicks off our 2024-2025 Irwin Steel Popular Entertainment Series.
