Fiji’s Opposition leader wants to remove politics of fear Umendra Singh

Fijian Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama is using politics of fear to keep his grip on power - according the leader of Fiji’s Opposition N a t i o n a l Federation Party, Dr Biman Prasad Dr Biman Prasad. “People have been scared to such an extent that they are afraid to ask questions,” said Dr Prasad, who was in Surrey and Vancouver this past week to meet and greet supporters. “Bainimarama and his Fiji First party people have told Fiji voters that there will be lots of problems if Bainimarama is not the PM. These scare tactics worked in last election but it will not work this time,” he said at meeting of supporters in Surrey. Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver calls BC premier a ‘hypocrite’ for NDP insider hires Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver is accusing NDP Premier John Horgan of being a “hypocrite” for a spate of party insider hirings. For years as the Opposition, Horgan criticized the Liberal government for doing the same thing. “If you want to play the moral high ground you better practice what you preach, otherwise you are nothing more than a hypocrite,” said Weaver. “Right now I feel the NDP is looking like a bunch of hypocrites because they are doing exactly what they said they wouldn’t do. “It’s what makes people cynical about politics and they need to stop it because they are losing public trust. It’s just wrong what is going on here.” Kassandra Dycke lost as the 2013 candidate in Comox Valley and has now been hired to work for Health Minister Adrian Dix. Kwantlen shifts application deadline for Indian international students Students hoping to head to Kwantlen Polytechnic University have until December 1 to make their application… unless, that is, they’re coming from India. The spring semester application deadline for prospective students from that country was moved ahead by nearly three months this year, to September 15.

A serious car accident in Surrey A serious car accident sent two in hospital on Wednesday night put two people in hospital and RCMP hunting for driver of one of the cars. A small car with a driver and a passenger was on 124th heading north at 84th and stopped at the 4 way stop sign. A Mercedes sedan going in the same direction smashed into the back of the first car., sending it flying into a lamp post. The Mercedes (above) was broken in half and jaws of life were used to rescue passengers. Road was closed for 6 hours.
