Each set is created to fit and compliment each client unique eye shape and desired look. She ensures that each client is uniquely satisfied and offers a two day warranty if they are not. In addition to individual lash extensions, she also creates and sells custom strip eyelashes online and ships nationwide. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Arthurs has always been a big dreamer and bold do-er. After obtaining an Associate Degree, she transferred to Texas State University – where she started Pop Style Lashes in her college apartment. Being in business can be tough at times but I show up for myself and my business daily. Pop Style Lashes is a service-based business and that’s what keeps me motivated - client satisfaction. I am constantly trying new skills, products and techniques to satisfy my clients, because when they are happy and love their lashes, I know that I did something right. What has been the hardest thing about being in business? The biggest challenge I have faced in regards to being in business would be the legality side of things. Like knowing what type of entity to register as, or self employment tax, and all of those complex and confusing things. You know, when you’re a first generation business woman, a lot of things can seem foreign and complex. But I am constantly educating myself on these matters. What are the failures that you most cherish? I am forever grateful for all of the “bad” eyelash extension sets that I have produced, or all of the clients who were less than satisfied with their service. Those moments taught me to go back to the drawing board, figure out where I went wrong, and try again.
my clientele. What is a philosophy or quote that you live by? “There are no losses in life. Only lessons.” I definitely view any “loss” as a lesson and that way, I never actually lose! It’s like a win-win no matter what because if I get a lesson, then I’m learning something for next time. If you could offer one piece of advice to someone wanting to follow your path, what would it be? To have faith and confidence in yourself. Also, to take inspired actions towards your goals daily. What can we look forward to from you in the upcoming year? In 2020, I am planning some major things! I can’t share all of the details just yet. However, I will continue teaching Eyelash Artist courses, in which I educate and certify beginner lash artists. Additionally, I am expanding the Pop Style Lashes product and merchandise line as well.

Pop Style Lashes turned one year old in September 2019 and she has lashed over 175 women since beginning her career as a Lash Technician. Before Pop Style Lashes, she considered dropping my classes and moving back to Houston to be closer to my family. In addition, starting a business with a college student budget and 21 credit hours brought many obstacles as well. “As a beginner Eyelash Technician, I would get home from class and immediately begin practicing teaching myself new techniques. I often had a busy schedule full of class, homework, eyelash clients and still made time for fun and recreation although it was never easy.” said Arthurs. Being in business can be hard and difficult sometimes, what keeps you motivated? I definitely agree.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I love this question! Besides my aspirations of being a total boss business genius and celebrity lash stylist, I actually want to be a college professor when I grew up. I will be attending graduate school in the fall of 2020 to obtain my M.A. in Sociology. What do you do in your free time? I absolutely cherish my free time and use it as a time to genuinely relax, do some self-care and enjoy the company of my family and friends. How would you describe yourself in one word? Resourceful. Definitely resourceful. What sets you apart from others who are doing the same thing? My creativity, drive and passion are just among the few things that I believe set me apart from other Eyelash Extension Artists. Although, my only competition is myself.
