Our team of Family Directors are dedicated to simplifying the funeral process for grieving families across North America. Simplifying Funerals is what

we do; not who we are. We act on your behalf with all the vendors, service providers and funeral homes. We research each of them and present options back to the family. Our focus is on savings and quality. We provide access to resources to assist you with the next chapter in your life. > What do you specialize in, what are you most known for? We assist families with finding low-cost retail options, service providers and funeral homes. We research each of them and present options back to the family. Our focus is on savings and quality. > Everyone has a story about why they started, what’s your’s? As fate would have it, we would lose two loved ones in our family in what seemed like a matter of days. My Uncle Seymour and my Granny Robbie Mae. Since my uncle didn’t have any kids, it was up to us to handle the funeral arrangements since Granny had gotten up in age. (Only to have to go through the same process shortly there after when she passed.) It was a horrible experience.

> Being in business can be hard and difficult sometimes, what keeps you motivated? Knowing that we're fighting for our families and reducing their out-of-pocket expenses for the REMAINING expenses left behind. > What can we look forward to from you in the upcoming year? We will continue to help families and increase the public awareness of their funeral options. > What has been the hardest thing about being in business? The hardest thing about being in business is being in business. Starting and running a business has been by far one of the most challenging things I've done to date. > What are the failures that you most cherish? Failure is awesome! It is in those failures that you get a chance to see where it is that needs the most improvement and learn from it. > What did you want to be when you grew up? Growing up in Lubbock, TX, I actaully wanted to be an Agricultural Scientist. > What do you do in your free time? I love writing; whether it be a song, a poem or short story...anything that gets the creative juices flowing.

In both instances, we walked into the local funeral home, informed them how much money we had and they made sure we spent every red cent. Up-selling, and in some cases, requiring a service that we didn’t need or want, but we did it anyway…because they knew what was needed, right? Wrong.

>How would you describe yourself in one word? Colorful.

It would later come down to a WIG that forced the founding of Cindy’s List LLC. My granny was a very fashionable woman. She wore the best clothes, drove a newer model car and kept her hair and nails done. My granny was fly.

>What is a philosophy or quote that you live by? May God open doors that no man can shut and close those He doesn't want us to walk though.

In her case, the funeral home was supposed to get her hair done like she liked it. We knew how much a hairstyle would cost, so when they said they’d charge $75 to complete the task, it was a no brainier. When her body arrived at the viewing, not only was her hair NOT done, but she had on a WIG. They’d charged us $75 to put on a WIG. I could have done it for $10!! That was the camel that broke the straws back. Yes…a camel on the straws back. A straw on the camels back just doesn’t convey the magnitude of how we felt, but a camel on the straws back…that’s huge! How many other people are they doing this to? What can we do to prevent this from ever happening again? It is our belief and deep desire to help those in need that led to the founding of...
