The Bharat Scouts and Guides th celebrated 68 Republic Day all over the country by participating in ceremonial Parade, paying homage to martyrs. Various units undertook social service activities on the day. The Election Commission of India declared 25th January as National Voter-Awareness Day. The units of Bharat Scouts and Guides actively participated in various voter awareness programme all over the country especially in the State of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. The Uttar Pradesh Bharat Scouts and Guides also arranged series of programmes during the last one month in creating voter awareness in the State in collaboration with the State Election Commission and District Administration. I congratulate the efforts of the State association in this direction.

Our National Training Centre, Pachmarhi and National Adventure Institute conducted prestigious event of February-19th International Adventure Programme from 2nd to 8th February, 2017 with 214 participants.

A Course for Leader Trainers (Scout Wing) was held at National Training Centre, Pachmarhi from 4th to 8th February, 2017 in which 15 participants from Bhutan Scouts Association and 10 from different states of India participated. A Course for Assistant Leader Trainers (Scout Wing) was conducted at National Training Centre, th th Pachmarhi from 15 to 19 January, 2017 with 21 participants. The infrastructure development of National Training Centre is progressing as planned.

Ticket to Life Project is an initiative supported by World Scout Bureau for promotion of Scouting among children belonging to difficult areas with a view to promote community based Scouting and eradication of child labour. A National Level coordinators gathering for TTL was held at Yellow Ribbon Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand from 31st January to 3rd of February, 2017. The State Level Executive Meet, Scout/Guide Committee, National Planning Committee and National Executive Committee are scheduled to be held in the last week of February and first week of March to review the achievement of activities of State Associations and National Level Events. The plan for 2017-2018 will also be prepared in consultation with representatives of states for achieving our Vision for 2024.

17th National Jamboree was conducted successfully at Mysuru, Karnataka with 30,000 participants. President of India inaugurated the Jamboree.

Centenary year of Cubing was celebrated with various programmes with special Cub Bulbul Utsav and Cub/Bulbul Unit Leaders Meet.

The renovation and beautification of the National Headquarters Building is completed. Development of NTC and NYC is progressing.

Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides is nominated member of National Youth Coordination Committee of Government of India.

Annual Rashtrapati Award Rally held on 5 December 2016 at Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

National Events Golden Arrow Award Rally st

The "Golden Arrow Award Rally" camp was conducted at National Youth Complex, Gadpuri, Haryana from 21 to 23 February 2017. 307 Cubs and Bulbuls with Unit Leaders from 16 States (Andhra Pradesh-15, Chhattisgarh-19, Delhi12, Eastern Railway-15, Haryana-20, Karnataka-26, Kerala-9, Kendriya Vidyalaya Samiti-27, Maharashtra-30, Manipur-3 Northern Railway-5, Punjab-34, Rajasthan-34, Southern Railway-15, Tamilnadu-29 and West Bengal-14) and 07 Staff Members participated. The "Golden Arrow Award Rally" was started on 21st February 2017 with Registration, Flag Ceremony/Bulbul Tree followed by Integration session in the afternoon. In the evening, rehearsal for receiving Award was conducted, followed by Red Flower/Kalrav.

22nd being the joint Birth Day of Lord and Lady B. P. their statues were garlanded. Soon after Flag, all the participants and staff proceeded to National Headquarters for Award Rally. In the forenoon of the day, a Rally was organised. National Commissioner (Guides) Dr. (Smt.) V. Vijyalakshmi and National Commissioner (Scouts) Dr. H. P. Chettri were the guests. Apart from these, members of High Level Committee Shri Vishu Kohli and Shri Satpal Bhatia were also present. Shri K. Sukumara, Director, Bharat Scouts and Guides extended welcome to the guests and the members present. The Cubs and Bulbuls were presented the certificates of Golden Arrow Award by the Guests present in the Rally. Cubs and Bulbuls presented a beautiful cultural programme which was eye catching. Ms. M.N. Machamma, Dy. Director Guide Leader Training proposed vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Shri A. B. Chettri, Dy. Director (B.P.). All the participants were taken for an educational tour in Delhi which was a memorable one for the participants of the Rally. 22nd being the Thinking Day all over the globe, a lucky dip was organized in connection with fund raising which is a part of the day's celebration. The winners were given prizes too. rd

On 23 All Faiths Prayer Meeting was conducted followed by flag. After the open session, flag was lowered and with the singing of National Anthem the Rally came to an end. Ms. M.N. Machamma, was the Leader of the Camp.

01st Rashtrapati Rover Award Testing Camp For The Year 2016 st

National Level 01 Rashtrapati Rover Award Testing Camp for the year 2016 was conducted at National Youth Complex, Gadpuri, Haryana from 16th to 20th February, 2017 in which 305 Rovers from Northern Region, Southern Region and Eastern Region namely Delhi, E.C. Railway, East Cost Railway, Eastern Railway, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, N.C. Railway, N.E. Railway, Northern Railway, Odisha, Punjab, S.E. Railway, Southern Railway, S.W. Railway, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal states participated. The camp was started with Flag Ceremony. In integration section LOC welcomed the Rovers and Staff members. The camp was conducted strictly according to the guidelines of the National Headquarters. Written, Oral and Practical

March-2017 tests were conducted on the various subjects like mapping, first aid, estimation, pioneering, camp craft, flags, prayer and National anthem etc. Log Books on various activities and Proficiency Badges were checked. Apart from regular testing, Rovers rendered their service to the camp site. On 19th evening, Dr. K. Sukumara, Director, Bharat Scouts and Guides along with Prof. E.U. Rajan, National Headquarters Commissioner (Southern Region), BSG, NHQ and Shri Amar B. Chettri, Dy. Director (Boy Programme) visited the testing camp. The Director in his speech appreciated the Rovers for their smartness and wearing of correct uniform. He blessed all the Rovers for their future life.

On 20th morning All Faiths Prayer meeting was conducted. WAGGGS and WOSM initiative were discussed with the Rovers. Final inspection was conducted before closing formalities and lowering of Flag. The camp came to an end with singing of National Anthem. Shri Mahinder Sharma, LT (R) & ROC (S), Western Region along with other staff members worked day and night to make the testing camp successful. Shri Arup Sarkar, LT (R), Assistant Director, Northern Region was the Leader of the Camp.

Meetings Meetings : State Level Executives’ Meet The State Level Executives' Meet was organized at NHQ th th from 26 to 28 Feb.16 under the leadership of Mr. K. Sukumara, Director. 129 state officials from 45 states attended the Meet. All the officials were divided into three groups i.e. STATE SECRETARIES, STCs & SOCs. The meet was inaugurated by Shri B.I. Nagarale, Chief National th Commissioner on 26 February 2017 at 10.30 a.m. in the conference Hall of National Headquarters. Dr. H.P Chettri, National Commissioner (Scouts) and Dr. V. Vijayalaksmi, National Commissioner (Guides), addressed the participants. During the meet, analytical statements of different departments were presented by the officers of NHQ and NTC. Assistant Directors of the region and NAI presented the achievements in their States and also shared their success stories. Schedule of events for 2017-18 is also prepared. Discussion on different issues was made. A recommendation committee consisting of 10 experienced leaders to recommend the road map of largest youth movement of our country was formed basing on the discussion and interaction held during the meet. th

The Closing Function was held on 28 February 2017 where Shri B. I. Nagarale, IAS (Retd.) Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dr. H.P Chettri, National Commissioner (Scouts) and Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Dy. National Commissioner (Scouts) were present and addressed the gathering. This is the first time in the history of BSG when 45 states represented in the State Level Exeucitive Meet. The meet was conducted by Shri K. Sukumara, Director Bharat Scouts & Guides as Meet Director under the patronage of Chief National Commissioner and advice of National Commissioner (Scout and Guides) ably assisted by the professionals from NHQ, NTC, Regional offices and NAI.

National Scout Committee and National Guide Committee The Joint Meeting of National Scout Committee and National Guide Committee of Bharat Scouts and Guides met at the National Headquarters, New Delhi on 2nd March, 2017 under the chairmanship of Dr. H.P. Chhetri, National Commissioner of Scouts and Dr. (Smt.) V. Vijayalakshmi, National Commissioner of Guides of the BS&G respectively. The committee discussed the achievements of the Scout and Guide Wings at various levels.

National Planning Committee The National Planning Committee of Bharat Scouts and Guides met at the National Headquarters, New Delhi on 3rd March, 2017 under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief National Commissioner Shri B. I. Nagarale, I.A.S. (Retd.). The meeting was attended by State Chief Commissioners of various State Associations and representatives of the State Associations. The committee discussed the achievements of the State Associations at various levels and the plan of the National Association for the next decade. The Committee also discussed the programmes in detail for the year 2017-18 and recommended the same to the National Executive Committee. The Development cum Renovation works taken-up at the NHQ, New Delhi, NTC and NAI, Pachmarhi and NYC, Gadpuri were also discussed by the committee members. Shri K. P. Mishra, Vice President of the National Association who attended the meeting representing Odisha state put forth his suggestions for better results. Shri P. Vishwanath, International Commissioner (S), Dr. H. P. Chhetri, National Commissioner (S), Dr. Sadhu Singh Randhawa, Dy. National Commissioner (S), Smt. Amelia Swer, Dy National Commissioner (G), Shri A.K. Absar, State Chief Commissioner, Assam also participated in the deliberations. Shri P. Vishwanath, International Commissioner (S) briefed about the successful conduct of 17th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides. Dr. K. Sukumara, Director, BSG welcomed the members. The meeting came to an end with Vote of thanks to the Chair and the members by Smt. Surekha Shrivastava, Joint Director (SS) I/C, BSG.

National Executive Committee Meeting The National Executive Committee of Bharat Scouts and Guides met at the National Headquarters, New Delhi on 4th March, 2017 under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief National Commissioner Shri B. I. Nagarale, I.A.S. (Retd.). The meeting reviewed the performance of the year 2016-17, effectiveness of NTC, NAI and Regional officers. The Committee accepted the schedule of events for the year 2017-18. The members appreciated the arrangements made in the 17th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides held at Mysuru, Karnataka from 29th December 2016 to 4th January 2017. The Development cum Renovation works taken-up at the NHQ, New Delhi, NTC and NAI, Pachmarhi and NYC, Gadpuri were also discussed by the committee members. Dr. K. Sukumara, Director, BSG welcomed the members.

National Training Centre, Pachmarhi Shri Paras Jain, Hon'ble Minister of Energy, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and State Chief Commissioner BS&G M.P. visited National Training Centre, Pachmarhi Shri Paras Jain, Hon'ble Minister of Energy, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and State Chief Commissioner BS&G, M.P. th visited NTC Pachmarhi on 15 Feb, 2017 at 2.00 PM. All the staff members including Shri M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC, Shri Siddharth Mohanty, Asst. Director, NAI and Shri Nikumbhe Yogesh S., Estate Manager were present. The Minister and State Chief Commissioner was attending the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh Ministers` Meeting at Pachmarhi. Shri M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC invited him to visit the campsite which he has kindly accepted. Jt. Director, NTC and other officials welcomed him by presenting a bouquet. Officials and all the staff members of NTC and NAI were introduced to him. He blessed the staff members and asked to work whole heartedly with Scout/Guide spirit. He was presented two proposals- one, for electrification of campsite and the other, Solar Project which he assured to fulfil as per rules. He has instructed the MPEB Engineer on the spot over phone and asked to solve the problem positively within one month. Then he went round the campsite, met the participants of NAI and students of Laxmi Bai Physical Education University who were attending their Annual Leadership camp at Thurman Park. He was very happy to see the campsite and assured all possible support from his side.

WAGGGS Global Initiatives Jammu and Kashmir One day Surf Smart Training Programme was conducted by Surf Smart Team J&K at Guru Nanak Public School, Jammu, on 17th Feb.2017 in which 52 Scouts, Guides and Unit Leaders participated. The progmme was inaugurated by Director of the School. He highlighted some facts of Modern Technology and shared them with all the participants; he deeply highlighted the importance of Safe Surfing which is the need of the hour. The participants took active part in all the activities and highly liked some activities like Beet the Virus, Avatars, Block it. At the closing, the Principal of the School distributed the certificates and badges to all the participants. The programme was conducted by Mr. Haroon Malik. Mrs. Neelam (Guide Captain) proposed vote of thanks. One day Surf Smart Training Programme was held at Hertiage Public School, Sanik Colony, Jammu on 23rd February 2017 in which 82 Scouts, Guides and Adult Leaders from the school took active part in all the three activities of Surf Smart. The training Programme was conducted by Mr. Haroon Malik, Coordinator, Surf Smart Team J&K and was assisted by Miss Ritika Sharma Team member.

National Adventure Institute, Pachmarhi 359th National Adventure Programme was conducted at National Adventure Institute, Pachmarhi from 15 to 21 February 2017. 35 participants and 09 staff members from–NVS Shillong Region (23), W.R.S. During the programme, activities such as Rappling, Valley Crossing, Rock Climbing, Obstacles Crossing, Riffle Shooting, Archery, Horse Riding and Boating. All the participants enjoyed the trekking to Bee fall, Jatashankar, Rajendra Giri, Lot Shrung, Pandav Cave and Sangum. Free Being Me and Surf Smart sessions were dealt by Ms. Bilkish Shaikh, Jr. Instructor. Under "SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN" participants cleaned the surroundings of "BEE FALL". They also gave instructions to shopkeepers and tourists how they can help to keep the tourist spots clean. On 20th February 2017, Shri Kamal from Germany was the Chief Guest. The Cultural programme was appreciated by the guests. The programme was organised under the Leadership of Shri Siddharth Mohanty, Assistant Director, NAI with the assistance of Ms. Bilkish Shaikh, Jr. Instructor, Shri Aman Singh Thakur, Shri Vivek Kumar Das, Jr. Instructors, Shri Sazeed Mohammad, Office Secretary and invited staff.

REGIONAL EVENTS Western Region Regional Level Cub Bulbul Utsav The Regional Headquarters, Western Region conducted Cub Bubul Utsav at STC, Ramtek, Nagpur, Maharashtra from 5th to 9th March 2017. 140 Cubs and Bulbul from 6 States of WR participated. On 5th, Utsav was started with the registration and Flag ceremony. During the Utsav Cub/Bulbul Greeting, Group Song, Story Telling, Play acting, Tara story/Jungle Dance, Paper Cutting, Totam Pole/Six Corner, Red Flower, Kalrav, Group Dance, Drawing painting and Model making competition were organized. All the participants enjoyed the competitions. Cubs and Bulbuls visited "Buddha Temple" near by Ramtek, Nagpur, Maharashtra. th

On 8 , closing ceremony `Kalrav` was organized. Hon'ble Shri B. I. Nagrale, Chief National Commissioner of BS&G was the Chief Guest. Shri Vasant Kale, S. C. (S), BS&G, Maharashtra, Ms. Sarika Bangadkar, Jt. Secretary, Maharashtra, Shri R.R. Jaiswal, Headquarters Commissioner, BS&G, Shri Bangadkar, Advocate Legal Advisor of BS&G, Maharashtra, Shri Tallar, DCC, BS&G, Nagpur, Shri Anasane, DTC, Nagpur were also present. Cubs and Bulbuls presented a very colorful programme in Kalrav. Certificates and Prizes were distributed to participants by the Hon'ble CNC. They celebrated World Women's Day on 8th March. "Messenger of Peace" activity and "Free Being Me" was organized by Mrs. Manisha, DOC (G), Shri Lalit Mishra, DOC (S) and Shri Billorkar, DOC (S) under the supervision of Leader of the Utsav. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was successfully conducted by Unit leaders. Mrs. Kumud Mehra, Asst. Director, Western Region was the Leader of the Utsav. She was ably assisted by Shri Haribhau Mahekare, LT (C), Mrs. Surekha Tonde, ALT(B) from Maharashtra, Shri Anand Ram Baghel, ALT(C) and Shri Gori Moli, ALT(B), Mrs. Sarswati Giriya, HWB (B) from Chhattisgarh, Shri Lalit Kumar Mishra, Pre-ALT (C) from Madhya Pradesh, Mrs. Nirmala, HWB(B), Ms. Manisha, DOC (G) and Shri Bilorkar, DOC (S) from Maharashtra. On 9th, morning, All Faiths Prayer was conducted. After completing the closing formalities, lowering of BSG flag and singing of National Anthem the Utsav was declared closed. The Utsav was conducted as per the guidelines of the National Headquarters. The accommodation and physical arrangements were good and tasty food was supplied by the Host State. Ø The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Western Regional Headquarters has organized 06th Rashtrapati Scout Award Testing Camp – 2016 at National Youth Complex, Gadpuri, Haryana from 03rd to 07th Feb. 2017 in which 90 Scouts from Rajasthan participated. Ø The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Western Regional Headquarters has organized 07th Rashtrapati Scout Award th th Testing Camp – 2016 at State Training Centre, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 10 to 14 Feb. 2017 in which 122 Scouts from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, N. W. Rly., S. E. C. Railway and W. Railway participated.

World Thinking Day on 22nd February 2017 NTC/NAI, Pachmarhi nd

The Thinking Day was celebrated in NTC office on 22 Feb, 2017 in which all the staff members of National Training Centre, National Adventure Institute and staff of National Project Construction Company Ltd. were present. Ms. Bilkish Shaikh, Junior Instructor, NAI extended a warm welcome to all the members who were present in the function. Garland and flowers were offered by Sh. M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC. Sh. Deepak, Site Engineer of NPCC, Sh. Nikumbhe Yogesh S., Estate Manager, Sh. Sunil Patel, Computer Operator, Sh. Sridhar Sahoo, Accountant and all other staff members were present. Sh. Siddharth Mohanty, Assistant Director lighted the lamp. He gave brief information about the Thinking Day. Sh. M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC explained importance of the day and the expectations by Bharat Scouts & Guides on the occasion of Thinking Day. Ms. Bilkish Shaikh, Jr. Instructor, NAI proposed Vote of Thanks. Thinking Day was celebrated in Kendriya Vidyalaya Pachmarhi in a Grand manner. Sh. M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC was the Chief Guest. All Faiths Prayer Meeting was conducted. Songs were sung by Scouts and Guides. Mrs. Anjali Atri, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya has expressed her views of Thinking Day. Importance was given to involve non uniformed students who have also joined in presenting songs and games. Sweets etc. were distributed to all the students. Sh. M. S. Qureshi, Jt. Director, NTC explained the original idea of the Thinking Day to the children and got a commitment from all the children that they will enrol at least one member who is non uniformed. Sh. IISD Celebrates the World Thinking Day and Scouts & Guides Founder's Day nd

International Indian School, Dammam celebrated the World Thinking Day on 22 February, 2017, with a variety of cultural programmes and different informative and variety entertainment programmes. The Founder's Day of International Boy Scouts and Girl Guides movement was also celebrated as the World Thinking Day. This day happened to be the birth anniversary of Lady Baden-Powell and Lord Baden-Powell, the founder's of International Scouts and Guides movement. During the ceremony, the scout boys of classes III - VIII standards delivered the scout promise and scout law displaying colourful placards. The scout cubs presented a melodious action song on social services which had the message of scout movement in it. The power point presentation highlighted some important events in the life of Lord Baden Powell and also gave the glimpses about what led to the start of the scout movement. The welcome address was given by the Headmaster Upper Primary Boys section Mr. Mohammad Ismail and the vote of thanks was delivered by the Headmaster Boys Middle section Mr. Lawrence Varghese. Jammu and Kashmir "World Thinking Day" 2017, was celebrated at State Headquarters, Jammu on 22nd February, 2017. Most venerated Jenab Neem Akhter Andrabi, Hon'ble Minister for P.W.D (President of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides) was the Chief Guest. Shri Sunil Sharma, Hon'ble Minister of State Transport (Independent charge), Youth Services and Sports, Revenue R and B, Rural Development & Panchayti Raj Agriculture production, presided over the function, while Advisors, Mtr Sakina Bano, Shri Sohail Kazami, Smt. Mizoram On Thinking Day, Mizoram State organised AIDS Awareness campaign throughout Aizawl. The function was held at Millenium Centre courtyard. For this Awareness, slogans had been made by the Scouts & Guides and the best slogan was awarded a prize.

Meghalaya The Scouts & Guides of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya organised a Swachh Bharat programme on the occasion of nd Thinking Day i.e. on 22 Feb, 2017 at Nongthymmai area in which about 70 Scouts and Guides participated.

North Central Railway World Thinking Day was organised by North Central Railway at STC, Allahabad and all the districts conducted this event in home station, Allahabad, Agra and Jhansi.

Odisha World Thinking Day & Founder's Day 2017 - the Joint Birthday of our Founders was celebrated round the state as per the guidelines, to reflect on the vision that Baden Powell described so passionately. As per the Theme of the Day "GROW", friends of uniformed members were included in all the activities planned for the day. Some districts have started the day by cutting Birthday cake, and some have started the day with All Faiths Prayer. Colourful Fun games have encouraged the invited new friends to participate with full enthusiasm. In order to grow our Creativity, chances have been given to the non uniformed participants to participate in creative activities, i.e. poster making, sharing of experience etc. In collaboration with other NGOs in some districts Rovers/Rangers have rendered hospital Service and Cleaning. For the Growth of Citizenship, plants were distributed and planted in some places i.e hospital, temple campus. The people of the area appreciated these activities. Telangana A new Baden Powell Statue was unveiled in Mahabubnagar District. Thinking Day programme was inaugurated on 22-02-2017. Shri G. The Head Master Dr. Suprio Panja of The Park Institution delivered his welcome address with very interesting words and motto of Scouting. Reports From States Assam The State Rally of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Assam was held at STC, Chamatapathar, Sonapur from 27th to 31st January 2017 in which 450 Scouts and Guides from 19 districts of Assam participated. The Rally was formally inaugurated by the State Chief Commissioner, Shri AK. Absar Hazarika who also took the Guard of Honour in the March Past on 27th Jan. various competitions like Skill-O-Rama, Pageant Show, Folk Song, Folk Dance, District Exposition and Food Plaza were held during the Rally. The Scouts and Guides were given enough opportunities to put their Scouting Skills into practice. The Rally created a unique platform for integration and cultural exchange. The Valedictory programme was held on the 30th January where the Hon'ble Governor of Assam and President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Assam Shri Banwarilal Purohit attended the function. Hon'ble Governor was so pleased with the performance of the young Scouts and Guides that he came down from the platform to play the drum and join the Bihu Dance along with the performer and other dignitaries. 78 Rovers, Rangers, Rover Leaders, Ranger Leaders and Staff Members extended their services to make the Scout/Guide Rally a success.

Haryana State BS&G has introduced Adventure programmes as a pilot project by training them in trekking, Hiking, Obstacles expedition, Environment and Nature Study etc., who in turn would train Scouts and Rovers in their Units. Rovers also did good turn by cleaning the entire surroundings of Hostel and HWB sites of Training Centre at Taradevi. An Educational Trip to Kufri was also arranged. The programme was conducted under the Leadership of Shri L.S. Verma, STC.

International Indian School, Al-Jubail Indian School Jubail Boy Scouts Cleaned Beach Area Boys Scouts of International Indian School, Al-Jubail under the guidance of Principal Dr. Syed. Hameed, Vice Principal th Dr. Naushad Ali along with Scout Masters organized community service i.e. cleaning campaign on 26 February 2017 at Jubail beach near Kanoo Travel. They enthusiastically took up cleaning tools and garbage bags to clean up every nook and corner of the beach area. Municipal authorities along with their team extended their support to this campaign. They appreciated the boy scouts of School for taking up such a wonderful service. The whole beach area was cleaned. Plastic bottles and non-biodegradable material was hand-picked and disposed. The local municipal authorities arranged vehicles to remove the loads of trash cleaned and collected by the Boy Scouts of Indian School Jubail. The whole programme was quite inspiring and motivating for the Scout Boys and Scout Masters. Scout Boys very eagerly and voluntarily came forward to participate and carry out the work. After all the motto of the programme to instil the habit of keeping environment clean and surroundings neat was realized.

Jammu and Kashmir Ø A function for the distribution of Rashtrspati Award Certificates to the Awardees was organized by Jammu & th Kashmir Chapter of Bharat Scouts & Guides on 10 February 2017. Hon'ble Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti honoured 48 Scouts, Guides and Rovers with commendations for their dedication during various Scouting trainings. On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced raise of annual grant to the Organization from the present Rs. 3 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs and offered to hold the next Annual Scouting JAMBOREE in the State. She also assured to provide proper camping centres at Jammu and Srinagar for Scouting and Guiding training. Hon'ble Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti appreciated the role of Scouting Movement and declared that youth development is Govt's priority. Tamilnadu Ø North Chennai District Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted centenary day of the District on 3rd January 2017 at Hobby Centre, Perambur. Tree plantation programme was conducted in which 250 Scouts & Guides participated. Ø On 26.01.2017, R.D. Parade was held at Marina beach by Tamil Nadu Government in which 150 Scouts & Guides participated. The Guides & Contingent Leader received the certificate and shield from Director of School Education Dr.S. KANNAPPAN, Selvi D. VASUNDARA DEVI, Director of Govt Examinations and State Commissioner (G) with Thiru Dr.D. RAJENDRAN, State Headquarters Commissioner (Admin) and State Secretary Mr. K. Ramachandran. Ø The Bharat Scouts and Guides Maharishi District, conducted Patrol Leaders Training camp for Scouts and rd th Guides from 23 to 25 January 2017 at MIRS Camp site with 258 Scouts & Guides and 718 Scout Masters and Guide Captains from Maharishi Group. Ø Trichy District Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted Voters Day function at Kuzhumani Govt Hr Sec School on 25.1.2017. Ø Lalgudi District Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted Rally at LNPG Hr. Sec. School on 8.2.17 in which 219 Scouts and 246 Guides participated.

Telangana During the Republic Day Parade, 60 members participated in the March Past with 40 members in the Band participated in the Secunderabad Parade Ground. SOC (G), Smt. G.Anantha Lakshmi, SOC (S) Shri G. Parameshwar participated in the event.

Western Railway Social Service Project was organised by Rovers and Rangers of Western Railway State BS&G, Dahod and Vadorara th District on 24 February 2017 on the occasion of Mahashivratri Utsav.

West Bengal On 7th March 2017, Shri Keshri Nath Tripathi, Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal & President of Bharat Scouts and Guides has inaugurated the Ambulance which was donated by M/s V-Gurd Industries Limited for the service of the underprivileged people of rural Bengal at Raj Bhavan, Kolkata. Shri Debaditya Chakrabarti, IAS (Retd.) State Chief Commissioner welcomed Hon'ble Governor and other guests and dignitaries to the function. Mr. Ratan Kumar Bhattacharjee, General Manager (E.R.) of V-Guard Industries Limited, in his speech expressed his satisfaction to be associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides, West Bengal. Then Hon'ble Governor cut the ribbon and flagged off the Ambulance and dedicated it to the community. In his speech Hon'ble Governor told that it is the real application of Scouting as dreamt by Lord Baden Powell, Founder of the Movement. He also thanked the sponsoring authority for their Noble initiative. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Dr. Sikha Banerjee, State Commissioner (Guides).
