There is a social atmosphere besides the ecological one in our life. We live in the social environment around us, which may or may not be conducive to the development of our personality. Our behaviour in many a case is a result of others behaviour, which may be pleasant or at times perturbing to us. But what is required is that we should not react to the behaviour of others on its face value, rather we should first analyze it carefully before reacting to it. We must not frame our emotional attitudes around their behaviour, rather base it on values after a careful analysis. It is not always the others perturbing behaviour that hurts us but our attitude to take it that way and get panicky. Someone is beating one’s horse or cow with a stick or trying to kill with a sword, or is beating one’s own child harshly, it may be annoying to us. But the degree of annoyance varies with our own degree of emotional quotient. If we are a bit more emotional, we interfere and try to know the cause of the problem and request the person to forget and forgive and be polite. In such a situation, that person may even try to be further more impolite and become irritate to us and may behave in an unexpected and irritated manner making us quarrel. Hence we have another way and that is to divert his attention for a while from the process of beating, may be just to request stopping the process for few seconds and reminding him if it is in his own benefit or otherwise. We may have to plead more and more ask if he intended to break a bone or bones of his horse or cow or his own son at that time. And if so, will he not have to bother for the treatment of the so broken bone subsequently? Problems do come in every body’s life. Most people blame others for their problems. It is not correct. “ No one can hurt you without your consent. So it is our own conscious consent to what happens to us, that hurts us rather than the happening as such”. -E. Roosevelt It can’t be denied that others action do affect us physically or financially but these must not be allowed to hurt us emotionally. Rather such unpleasant and harming acts by others must strengthen our will power, our character and inner strength to combat such situations and acts by others. Many such situations we can see in our scouting/guiding life. Dear Brothers & sisters, we should face such situations. When we work for the children many persons may hurt us, humiliate us by their action, words and also manipulation. But we should have faith on us, faith in the Movement and faith in God. Remember we work for children and not for others. We have responsibility for our children only; we need not work to satisfy others. Go ahead with conscious and always be trustworthy. Success is yours. Good luck.

A meeting of Heads of youth organisations was held on 18.04.2016 under the leadership of Hon’ble Shri Narendra ModiJi, Prime Minister of India. In the meeting Hon’ble Prime Minister appealed youth organisations to come together and make a joint effort for the development and well being of the youth of India. He also spoke about the foucssed efforts in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan such as adopting hospitals, schools, statues, public places etc. I appeal to all the members of the organisation to bring awareness about Water Conservation in the public and adopting hospitals, schools, local parks and statues with the permission of local administration and give their full support in this programme for the regular cleaning of the same. They should send the reports with photographs of the same to National Headquarters through their state headquarters in time, so that the consolidated report can be published in the monthly magazine of the Bharat Scouts & Guides. I am happy to inform you that like every year our Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers and Adult Leaders have arranged drinking water booths in the summer season at public places for supply of cold drinking water and also made bird feeders for the birds with the support of Railways and local administration. 3rd NSO coordinators Meet of Asia Pacific Region for “Messenger of Peace” initiative was held in Badkhal, Haryana from 20th to 24th April, 2016. To promote Scouting and Guiding in the World various projects were discussed through Messenger of Peace programme. Save Water At Home

View

1. Use Shower while bathing. Avoid using Buckets and other ways for bathing, it saves a lot of water. Make sure the flow of water through shower is not too high.

From: Anmol Kumar, Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh)

2. Check for Leakages regularly and specially on plumbing joints and fix them if there are any leakages.

Respected Sir, I am very happy after returning from Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh. Specially I missed those nice moments with Guides, Scouts and teachers who taught us how to behave in adventure. I am really very thankful to you. I missed all the friends whom we made in few days and I felt very sorry in the last moment when they left us. But what I can do? It should happen it happens. I will never forget this trip in my life. It is a mark on my carrier. I will never forget this great institute of adventure where I had learnt so many things like rock climbing etc. A letter of this type is not enough for whole experience.

3. Use Buckets while washing Car or any of your vehicles. Using Hose wastes a huge amount of water. 4. Don’t water your Garden plants in the day or in the morning, water them in the evening so that the water get socks in the overnight. If you water plants in the morning, most probably the water will be evaporated. 5. Don’t throw away the water used to wash the vegetables or water used in such types of activities. You can reuse them in your garden. (There are lots of ways to use them. Just you have to be creative for that). 6. Dripping taps are also a wastage of water, we ignore them thinking that a drop doesn’t matter. It’s not about a drop, if you will calculate you will be shocked that more than 100 liters are wasted by this in a year.

Thanking you, sir,

7. Check the water flow in every tap. Make sure it’s not too high. This wastes a lot of water (approximately half of the water you use).

Yours Truly, Anmol Kumar To,

8. Run only full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.

Bharat Scouts & Guides, National Headquarters, Lakshmi Mazumdar Bhawan, 16, M.G. Marg, I.P.Estate, New Delhi- 110002

9. Save the water while Raining season, you can make a tank for that (You can use the water for your garden and for lots of other activities). 10. Think before using water.

Congratulation
