TH07 NATIONAL ADVENTURE PROGRAMME
th07 National Adventure Programme was conducted at National Adventure Institute, Snow View Kurseong, Darjeeling from th15 to th19 November, 2021 in which 48 youth from Haryana and Maharashtra participated. During the programme, participants visited different places like HMI Darjeeling. They did activities such as Obstacles Crossings, visit to zoo and historical museum which describes the life of a mountaineer and their belongings who made history. The participants went on trekking to Eagle Crag and Dow Hill forest. Shri Krishan Lal Sharma, Principal of Navo Durga School, Former Director of Higher Education, Haryana attended the valedictory function.

TH08 NATIONAL ADVENTURE PROGRAMME
th08 National Adventure Programme was conducted at National Adventure Institute, Snow View Kurseong nd , Darjeeling from 22 thto 26 November, 2021 in which 28 participants from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and West Bengal attended. Besides regular activities, Kims games & quiz competitions were organized for the participants. They all enjoyed the day and were happy to explore their knowledge. Shri Jogendra Prasad, State Commissioner (Cub), W.B, was present in the grand camp fire. Different cultural programmes were presented by the participants. Both the programmes were conducted under the Leadership of Smt. Surekha Shrivastava Dy. Director, NAI with the assistance of Mr. Vivek Kumar Das, Jr. Instructor along with the help of invited staff members.

TH09 NATIONAL ADVENTURE PROGRAMME
th09 National Adventure Programme was conducted at National Adventure Institute, Snow View, Kurseong th , Darjeeling from 06 thto 10 December, 2021 in which 09 participants from Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh participated.
th09 Special National Adventure Programme was conducted at the same place from th08 to th12 December, 2021 in which 108 participants from Chhattisgarh and West Bengal participated. Mr. Ezaz Ahmed, Sub Divisional Officer (I.A.S), Kurseong was the Chief Guest of the programme who lighted the traditional lamp. During the above programmes, participants visited different places like HMI Darjeeling –activities such as Obstacles Crossings, zoo visit and historical museum describes the life of a mountaineer and their belongings who made history. Trek to Eagle Crag, Dow Hill forest and Neta Subhas Chandra Bose museum. Backwoodsman cooking, archery, rifle shooting and quiz competition were organized. Shri Manoranjan Ghosh, Additional Superintendent of Police was the Chief Guest in the grand camp fire. Shri Kailash Soni, State Secretary, BS&G, Chhattisgarh was also present. Smt. Surekha Shrivastava Dy. Director, NAI was the Leader of the above programmes. She was assisted by Mr. Vivek Kumar Das, Jr. Instructor and invited staff.

THE BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES, INDIA IS AWARDED MESSENGERS OF PEACE HERO FOR CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS PEACE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

This year, World Scouting has recognised 25 young people of various countries for their outstanding service and contributions towards building peace and promoting sustainable development in their communities. The young leaders were named Messengers of Peace Heroes and they were awarded in a ceremony held on th06 December 2021 virtually under Scouting’s flagship initiative, Messengers of Peace, which is celebrating 10 years of impact around the world. Mafeking Scout Group of Bangalore, Karnataka State Bharat Scouts and Guides, India was recognised this year 2021 by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement as Messengers of Peace Hero at the Global Level for the efforts taken to contribute to the culture of peace and the Messengers of the Peace. Shri Amar B. Chettri, Joint Director of Scouts (Prog. &Trg.) & Messengers of Peace NSO Coordinator of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Headquarters, New Delhi is conferred with ‘Messengers of Peace Special Recognition this year 2021 by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement for his extraordinary contribution in his role as an Adult Leader in supporting young people creating more peaceful, resilient and sustainable communities in the country and the world as a whole.
thThe award presentation ceremony was held virtually on 06 December, 2021. The award ceremony has honoured the young Messengers of Peace Heroes as well as National Scout Organisation and highlighted stories of their unique community-based projects. The award recognises the service and actions of young people across five categories related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): environment, peace-building, life skills, health and well-being, and COVID-19 response. Messengers of Peace connects young peace-builders together in global network and inspires them to play a leadership role and become active citizens in their communities. Since 2010, the Messengers of Peace initiative has involved nearly all 172 National Scout Organizations and empowered Scouts to lead more than 16 million community development projects delivering over 2.5 billion hours of service towards the SDGs. The Bharat Scouts and Guides is continuously working to enhance Messengers of Peace network in the country to create impact of scouting/guiding in the community with a mission—Creating Better India.
