Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. November is a very slow month for the bike life. If you have anything happening please let me know at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com We are looking for people who go to a lot of the events and would like to do sales and also cover a few events. We are trying to keep the areas to about one county each, so after you get set up you could cover it in 2 or 3 days a month. We are offering a great sales incentive so if you are looking for a little money on the side please get in touch with us. We will also be looking for bikes to feature in the magazine along with models for on the bikes.
Rambling Thoughts. I want to thank all of the great people that are checking out our new publication and supporting our efforts. This was started as I was doing a lot of work for many of the other magazines local and national ( I have the cover of the January 2016 issue of The Horse) and a good friend of mine said to me that there is nothing that is really local for the local riders. We are trying our best to cover as much of the local events as we can. We have been looking for people to work as sales and to also cover events in their areas. This will help us to expand the number of events along with the area that we can cover. You can go to our web site www.thebikerstradingpost.com and subscribe You will only be notified of new editions and if something really supper is happening. So far we have only notified about the new issues coming out. At the time that I am writing this we had almost 5,000 hits for November. Our numbers are climbing every day. Please spread the word and help make this the greatest local publication around.
Poker Runs Poker runs can be a great event to get a good group of people together and to also raise money for a local cause. We are listing as many of the events like this that we can and trying to be a part of the community. In 2015 we listed over 400 local events on the facebook page and we are listing many of them in here and also under the events page on our website. Look for the events listed by date then we have listed where and the type of event it is. Under that it will have in red either information, flyer or website and if you click on that it will take you to more information on that event.
Upcoming Poker Runs I am in the process of making a guide on how to set up a poker run to help the people who are new to this. In that guide will be the links to all of the runs that we had listed last year. ( About 400 ) This can help to limit the number of runs in one area on a weekend.

Also there are published please let us know. two calendars again. One vertical and one horizontal that you can download for free.

Cemetery Run Had the opportunity this year to hit the Cemetery Run from Castlewood. It is a close knit group that started doing this low key run in honor of Bob Boyd who died in 1979. This was the 36th year for it. Bob was a local wrench for all of the local bikers back in the day and was respected by all. They started at the Graceland Cemetery then went to Oak Park Cemetery and finished at Mount Herman Cemetery. Like I said this is a group that wants to do something out of respect to a person they all respected and added some others along the way.

Lawrence County A.B.A.T.E. Light Up Night in New Castle
LAWRENCE CO. ABATE Light Up Night in New Castle was a huge success and a lot of fun. The weather was windy but the parade went on as planned and all the children big & small enjoyed the candy and the lights. As we draw closer to the end of 2015, I would like to THANK all our Officers for all their dedication and the many, many hours that they each have donated to Lawrence Co. Abate. Big Bob, Katherine Shira, Rich Shira, Mickie Mackievich, Susan Chieze, Tina Johnston, Jim Conner, Ken Snow, Dave Herzog & Mike McBurney. As we take time out to spend with our families and loved ones this Christmas, may we all be reminded of how special each day is and how reaching out to help weather it be for a cause you believe in or to help a friend or stranger out in some small way. That it really truly does change the world. So lets all change the world in 2016 !!!!! Have a Very Merry Christmas Lovada I want to thank Lovada who is with the Lawrence county A.B.A.T.E. and has been so helpful to us and so great to the organization by getting the good word out about what all they do. Here is their mission statement. Jim Who Are We? We are the Lawrence County Chapter of the Pennsylvania A.B.A.T.E. Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education. We are a politically active motorcycle rights organization with 100+ members in our local Chapter. Let me stress... WE ARE NOT A MOTORCYCLE CLUB. We are political activists. We stress education for all, motorcyclists and automobilists alike, to be aware of our existence on the roads. A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania is an organization of motorcyclists dedicated to the protection of the individual rights of motorcyclists through political change, public education and charitable works. As part of this mission, we also are active in the elimination of unfair legislation as it concerns motorcyclists; promoting motorcycle safety through both motorist and rider education; and improving the image of motorcyclists to the general public. What Is Our Purpose? We seek to protect our rights as valid motor vehicles within this Commonwealth. We fight for a number of issues that directly affect the motorcycling community. Check out their web page. http://www.lawrencecountyabate.org/ And the state A.B.A.T.E. at http://www.abatepa.org/index.php

Chelsea Tattoo Model for December. Photography by Donald Keys My Agape Photography Most of my tattoos were done by Phat Pat Stevens. I got the Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo when I was 16, because it was one of my favorite movies. Everyone said I would regret it when I was older, but I m 22 now and I still watch the movie. I got the dreamcatcher because I used to have really bad nightmares, and when I hung a dreamcatcher up it took them away. The DC monster sign was just a cool symbol. Hello Kitty is one of my favorites, and I also love zombies, so a Hello Kitty zombie was a natural choice. Lotus flowers have different meanings depending on the color. The blue means truthful; I don t lie. The purple is femininity, and the outline of it, the air, is my Zodiac element. I got the pot leaf with my best friend as a spur of the moment thing. Bubbu Lu Tattooski did my sugar skulls, designed just for me. Owls are my favorite animal, and Skip Kemick did that for me. My mother and I got the brass knuckle butterfly as a matching tattoo. She has the same one in the same spot.

Humor to relieve stress The Doctors Visit 85-year-old Biker Bob was requested by his doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam. The doctor gave the man a jar and said, Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow. The next day Bob reappeared at the doctor s office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day. The doctor asked what happened and the old biker explained, 'Well you see, doc, it s like this. First I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. Then I asked my old lady for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing. 'We even called up Sally, the Gal next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin it between her knees, but still nothing. The doctor was shocked! 'You asked your neighbor?' Bob replied, 'Yep, none of us could get that damn jar open. Learning How To Swear While spending the weekend with Biker Bob and his ol lady their 2 grandsons are up early one morning before breakfast. The older grandson tells the younger one that after listening to grandpa Bob he thinks that they are old enough to start swearing to. His younger brother agrees. The older grandson then forms a plan, "When we go downstairs for breakfast I think you should say "Hell" and I'm going to say "Shit." he says. When they go downstairs their grandma asks the older grandson what he wants for breakfast. He says, "What the Shit. I think I'll have cheerios." Bobs ol lady slaps him right up-side the head and sends him back up stairs . She then turns to the younger grandson and asks what he'd like to have for breakfast. He says, "Well, it sure as hell isn't going to be the fucking cheerios. Beer Here Q: What is the similarity between Michelob Ultra and having sex in a rowboat? A: They are both SO close to water! Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. If beer, coffee, or a nap can't cure it, you've got a serious problem.
Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress The Drunk Biker An old biker is siting at a table in a biker bar getting really drunk. He gets so drunk he falls out of the chair two times. So couple of younger bikers do the right thing and take him home. As they try to get him out to the truck he falls down two more times. When they get him to his house and go to get out of truck he falls again. As they hold him up at his front door waiting for wife to open it they let go and down he goes. When his old lady opens the door they say to her, he was kind of drunk so we gave him a ride home. As they are walking back to the truck they hear her say hey where's his wheelchair. The Dead Wife A funeral service is being held for a Biker's wife. She was notorious for being mean and nasty toward her biker husband. She had recently just passed away. At the end of the service, the pall bearers are carrying the casket out when they accidentally bump into a wall, jarring the casket. They hear a faint moan! They open the casket and find that the biker's old lady is actually alive! She lives for ten more years, and then dies. Once again, a ceremony is held, and at the end of it the pall bearers are again carrying out the casket. As they carry the casket towards the door, the husband cries out: "Watch that fucking wall!" Obsessions A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children. You all have obsessions, he observed. To the first mother, Mary, he said, You are obsessed with eating. You ve even named your daughter Candy. He turned to the second Mom, Ann: Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child s name, Penny. He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: Your obsession is alcohol. This too shows itself in your child s name, Brandy.
At this point, the fourth mother, a biker chick , quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand, and whispered, Come on, Dick, this guy has no idea what he s talking about. Let s pick up Peter and Willy from school and go get lunch.............Biker chicks...you gotta love em !!!
It was a nice morning out on Sunday November 8th when I headed over to the swap meet at Yankee Lake in Brookfield Ohio. This is the 23rd year for this fall swap meet and it is by far one of the best anywhere around. It is labeled as one of the largest old skool motorcycle swap meets in the tri state region with an excellent supply of new and old parts along with a nice collection of motorcycles for sale. The weather was perfect for an event like this, with lost of sun but just a little on the cool side. I think it was two years ago it snowed most of the day but that never slowed people down. Upon arriving, I had to park in the field above the parking lot due to the number of people attending. I guess I like this one because I have been attending it for so many years and I know a lot of the local people, but have also got to know a lot of the vendors for as far away as Michigan. I did get to finally meet the lovely Sondra from Wicked Web Jewelry that I have talked to on the Internet several times. Keep watching here and we will let you now when the spring swap meet is as soon as we find out.
