Goring Heath Horse Trials “Please don’t let snow stop play!!” That’s how I started writing for our ill-fated March Event. Oh! How wet it was! We’re up and running now & confident all will be well. Over the weekend, we celebrate the life of our dear friend Harold Tomson, who sadly passed away last year. Harold was a pivotal part of the Goring Team, turning his hand to anything, as well as taking on the mantle of being our Chief Show Jumping Steward. He is very much missed. We will be making a donation to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance in his memory. Contributions can be made in the buckets located in the Secretaries. Our heartfelt support & thanks go to our friends, Jacque & Anna. This year, we are taking a new approach to recycling. There is a massive amount of waste at Horse Trials & we are asking everyone to do their bit. We have organised labelled waste bins for the disposal of rubbish & we will be encouraging the reuse of cups for your coffees & teas. We are subsidizing some Goring mug/cups which can be yours for a donation of just £1. We always recycle unused stationery but will be making much more effort throughout the event to do our best for the planet! Please join us. As ever, we thank our gallant band of volunteers. Goring really could not happen without them. We are deeply indebted & also very grateful to our sponsors. We have loyal supporters who have been with us for many years & have also attracted new ones. Thank you so much to all. Please express your gratitude to both volunteers & sponsors. And of course - thank you to you! We sincerely hope you have a fabulous Goring – just like us!

Volunteers The committee are enormously grateful to all the volunteers that give their time so willingly & freely, in support of our Horse Trials. Bacon rolls & hot drinks greet their arrival in the mornings. Lunch is provided (packed for the fence judges who have to stay at their posts all day). Refreshments are offered throughout the day. A BBQ on Saturday evening for all the helpers. Without the help of all these willing folk, we could not run this event. Please show your respect & appreciation. Do you want to have a go?
