Goring Heath Horse Trials After last year, I can barely bring myself to say, as I write this, ‘THE SUN IS SHINING’! All fingers & toes are crossed that the weather doesn’t change & we have a lovely event. With full entries, it’s clear that everyone is anxious to get a run under their belts. Goring will provide!! As you wander around the event, soaking up the atmosphere, walking the course & enjoying the trade stands, please remember the volunteers. We are tremendously lucky at Goring to have a group of willing supporters, happy to help in all weathers. Many have to set off from home in the early hours, having sorted out their animals etc. We give them a welcoming breakfast & look after them, as best we can, throughout the day, which is sometimes very long. We could not be more grateful. Volunteers do all this for the love of the sport and therefore for you! Please remember to show your appreciation when you come across dressage stewards, show jumping & cross-country stewards, our secretaries & all the other band of helpers behind the scenes. You wouldn’t be able to compete without their support! Goring is very, very grateful to everyone who has offered support. Fancy a day out volunteering at an event without the horse??!! It’s really interesting seeing things from a different angle & you’ll meet a great bunch of people. Just get in touch with your local event and I’m sure they will welcome you with open arms. For Goring, you just need to email us - goringheathht@g.mail.com. Have a great day!

Bacon rolls & hot drinks greet their arrival in the mornings. Lunch is provided (packed for the fence judges who have to stay at their posts all day). Refreshments are offered throughout the day. Whilst spectating on the cross country course, please listen carefully for the fence judge’s whistle. This indicates that a horse is approaching at speed. You must keep clear of the course for your own & the rider’s safety.
