store at 731 Runnymede Rd. near St. Clair Avenue West, the 50-bed shelter could be open by mid-2018 after renovations are completed. The 10-year lease, which comes with two options to extend it for an additional five years, was approved at council’s July 4 meet-

ing. Local Coun. Frances Nunziata (Ward 11 York South-Weston) said her constituents don’t feel the location is suitable for a shelter, and neither does she. "It’s on Runnymede next to two body shops," she said. "We

don’t have transit on St. Clair, so as far as the location of the shelter, I don’t believe it was the best site for a shelter." According to a city staff report presented to the executive com-
