Project to help counter female stereotypes
OPINION Mammoliti’s troubled past makes him a poor pick for Tory /4
LISA RAINFORD lrainford@insidetoronto.com Never did Windermere United Church minister Alexa Gilmour ever think she’d be a calendar model – nor did she ever aspire to it. “My feminist heart is disappointed when I see calendar models,” she confessed during a conversation with The Villager. And, yet Gilmour is pleased

Man charged in High Park Avenue stabbing A man in his 20s has been charged with second-degree murder and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning following a fatal stabbing in an apartment build-

The calendar was inspired by an experience Gilmour’s friend and colleague Trisha Elliot had while posing for a professional >>>CALENDAR, page 20
Bloor West boutique vandalized again LISA RAINFORD lrainford@insidetoronto.com Vandals have struck again. Bloor West Village clothing boutique Trove suffered yet another defacing at the hands of a vandal sometime Sunday night, co-owner Carolyn Eby reported. Again, the pride flag in the store’s front window was sprayed over with paint. “It’s pretty bold. I’m taking
it in stride. I kind of knew it wouldn’t be the end,” Eby said. “Someone doesn’t like my sign.” She says she’s in the midst of trying to figure out how to turn something so horrible into something good. Eby credits nearby Windermere United Church for flying its pride flag in solidarity and would love to see other businesses and stores >>>POLICE, page 8
