The Bloor West Village Residents Association (BWVRA) is providing the opportunity to have dinner with actress, author and

comedian Andrea Martin of SCTV and My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame. Martin, an American native, moved to Toronto early in her career and has called Bloor West Village home for years.

She showed her support at an Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) pre-hearing and mediation Monday, Jan. 6, regarding a proposed development at Bloor West and Durie streets. She was one of more than 100 local resi-

This spring the High Park Nature Centre will have a new place to call home. As of April 2015 the Nature Centre, currently located at 440 Parkside Dr., will be on the move to a new space near the entrance to High Park at Bloor Street West. Known to employees and park goers as the Forest School, the existing facility boasts 5,000 square-feet of space, a significant increase from its building that’s roughly 700 square-feet. According to Natalie Harder, the centre’s executive director, the lack of space at its current location was a large deciding factor for the move. “It’s not a lot of space. We obviously spend a lot of time outdoors, but with the case of severe weather we have to have a place to bring everybody,” she said. The centre has had an >>>larger, page 10
