“This is a victory for our community and for the community legal clinic system,” said Davenport MPP Jonah Schein, who circulated the petition. WTCLS provides “important” legal assistance, housing help, public education and mental health support to a broad spectrum of low-income and marginalized individuals, said the local MPP. Had the WTCLS closed this month, its clients would have had to seek support through the Social Benefits Tribunal and Landlord and Tenant Tribunal, according to Kier Munn, co-chair of WTCLS board of directors. WTCLS is “grateful” for the community’s support, said Munn.

High Park Zoo welcomes baby kangaroo One of the High Park Zoo’s latest additions has made an appearance in recent weeks, much to the delight of visitors to the popular family spot.
A baby kangaroo has popped its head out to get a peek of its new home, Parkdale-High Park Councillor Sarah Doucette said.
