The curtain is closing on the Runnymede Theatre-turned Chapters bookstore in Bloor West Village. A fixture at the corner of Bloor Street West and Runnymede Road for 15 years, Chapters will be shutting down in the new year, confirmed a top executive this week. “It’s a great store that’s served the neighbourhood incredibly well,” said Drew McGowen, vice-president of real estate and development at Chapters Indigo. “We’re at the end of our lease and the landlord can get far, far more money than we are able to pay.” Since its opening in November 1999, Toronto’s commercial and housing real estate market has experienced “such a boom,” McGowen said. Chapters must vacate the premises by March 31, 2014, however, McGowen could not confirm when the store would be closed to the public. As for its employees, they have been notified and all will be relocated to other stores, he said. “I want to offer our greatest, >>>EXTERIOR, page 7

ONLINE: THE MAYOR’S CONTROVERSY
All our coverage, in one place. Mayor Rob Ford admitted he smoked crack cocaine, once and in a “drunken stupor.” The shocking admission has fueled debate as to his future at city hall and propelled people to speak out – in support of the man and in criticism of him. Shovels dig in on new Sunnyside bike park Phase one of skills park expected to open next spring LISA RAINFORD lrainford@insidetoronto.com Construction has begun on the long-awaited and eagerly anticipated Sunnyside Bike Park. The bike park will be situated on a stretch of land north of Lake Shore Boulevard West, between Ellis Avenue and Colborne Lodge Drive according to the City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation department. “We are expecting to do some preliminary work on site this week and next,” said Scott Laver, natural environment specialist this week. “We are working on a detailed schedule with the contractor this week, but we do expect to get things under-
way as early as Thursday or Friday.” Bicycle Motorcross and mountain bike riders played an integral role in the design of the park, which will be used for off-road cycling and skill building and is expected to attract riders from across the city and beyond. a place for tricks The park will be comprised of a skills trail, pump tracks, a variety of jump lines and a large drop and wall ride. Amenities will include benches, picnic tables, drinking fountains and gathering areas in anticipation of families and those who have yet to try off-road cycling. “We are aiming to have phase one of the park (the riding features) opened by next spring. Phase two (driveway entrance and other park amenities) will be completed by the end of 2014,” said Laver. Initially proposed for the
parking lot in the southeast corner of High Park, Laver said the strip of land between the Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard was a better fit for its larger size, its accessibility and visibility. Even though surrounded by roadways, there are still lots of trees and shade, said Laver, making it feel like being immersed in nature. world-class design The new park was designed by the internationally acclaimed Jay Hoots of Hoots Inc. – a world leader in the design of communitybased bike skill parks and trail systems – with input from BMX and mountain bike riders at a consultation meeting held in October. The 5,000-square-metre park will accommodate 100 riders at one time, Hoots said.

Checking in to the hospital is a breeze Patient registration at St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) is on its way to becoming quicker and more efficient. The hospital recently launched a pilot project with the installation of a registration kiosk, which operates similarly to an Automated Banking Machine, in the heart failure clinic and will roll out throughout the remaining ACC clinics this fall. “This is a fully self-sufficient kiosk, which allows patients to register their basic information,” said Greg Zaffarano, operations coordinator. “It provides patients with the forms they need and directions on a map.” All patients have to do is insert their health card, he told The Villager. “We encourage patients to try it

We want to make it as easy as possible for patients.” The kiosk’s benefit is reduced wait times at registration. If the clerks are busy, people can use the kiosk. very year we don the crimson poppy to honour our veterans for their service and sacrifice. We donate to the Royal Canadian Legion so that they may continue to support them. We reflect upon their contribution to our country with ceremonies on Nov. 11 and a minute of silence. Unfortunately for many, that’s the extent of their personal commitment to the occasion. What else can one do? The answer is much more – especially today with the aid of social media and online tools. In fact, it’s become so easy to learn, spread awareness of our history and share the stories of our veterans that the question becomes, why wouldn’t you do more? For starters, visit bit.ly/174PWqT where we list local Remembrance Day services, stories and where we’ll our view veteran have photo galleries of those ceras they happen. Ford has absented himself from role of mayor
T
oronto City Council is in disarray, and it will likely remain so for some time. That is the one thing that one can safely write, in a column that met a late Tuesday afternoon deadline: just a few hours after Mayor Rob Ford made his stunning admission – that he has indeed smoked crack cocaine – and a few minutes after his late-inthe-day news conference that he still means to be mayor. Things are moving quickly, and no doubt as this shows up in newspaper boxes and doorsteps things will have no doubt developed. But this remains: the mayor has admitted to smoking crack cocaine, sometime last year, while in office. In doing so, regardless of whether he stays in his office, he has effectively absented himself from his role as mayor. Council won’t, and really shouldn’t,
david nickle the city support him. Council is going to have to find a way to steer itself over the next year. At the next council meeting, council will take some steps toward doing that. Willowdale Councillor John Filion has brought forward a motion to temporarily strip the mayor of all his powers, seizing for council the ability to appoint an executive committee and deputy mayor. Denzil Minnan-Wong, the Don Valley East councillor who has been one of Ford’s more effective lieutenants on that executive committee, is asking the mayor to simply leave and look after himself. There was also word Tuesday that the mayor’s brother Doug could be off the budget commit-
tee, after he demanded Toronto police Chief Bill Blair’s resignation over the chief’s comments when he unveiled the existence of the video that appears to show Rob Ford smoking crack. That sets up an infrastructure that might allow council to control its own agenda. But the task will just be beginning. In a few weeks, council will have before it the 2014 operating budget to debate and pass. This is an area where a strong mayor either leads with a plan, or provides an idea to oppose. Who will give voice to the vision for this budget? Karen Stintz? One of the other pretenders to the mayoralty next year? Now, almost certainly council will keep the city running, the tax rates reasonable and the services intact. But anyone who thinks it will be smooth need only look at the flail-
ing debate over subways versus light rail versus other subways to abandon that idea. Council will also be making up its mind on the Billy Bishop Airport extension some time before the next election. Once again, some sort of decision will emerge – but it, like the budget, will emerge from chaos. If Mayor Ford were gone, then Norm Kelly, the avuncular councillor from Scarborough-Agincourt, could ably step in and guide matters, in the manner of Ford’s mandate. But as deputy to the crippled wreck that the Ford administration will have become, it will be difficult for him to do any better. Ford has left an awful, filthy mess for others to clean up.

Mayor’s alleged addictions don’t cost taxpayers money, reader says
Metrolinx unaware of how majority of neighbours feel about noise walls: resident To the editor: Re: ‘Group hopes province will halt planned noise walls,’ News, Oct. 24 I’m surprised to hear that Metrolinx and the architects it has contracted believe that opposition to the noise wall is a minority of people. They are incredibly short-sighted if they are simply relying on people who came out to design consultations after Metrolinx imposed the wall on our neighbourhood.
As a resident living less than 100 metres away from the rail corridor, I have opposed the government’s choice of using diesel trains and supported efforts to electrify the lines, as have a majority of my neighbours. We refused to participate in the design consultations because there was no meaningful consultation about the need to put them there in the first place. Liz Forsberg
Flood Ford with emails to step down To the editor: Now that we know the truth about Mayor Rob Ford what are the citizens of Toronto going to do about it? Ford suffers from an inflated ego and he can do no wrong, and wrong is what he is. I think Torontonians have been more than patient and we do not deserve any delay in getting rid of the mayor. It would be a good idea for mas-
sive protests and emails to assail Ford’s office and let him know we want him out. I want a mayor who is trustworthy, principled, honest and respects the city he lives in. I want a mayor who has sound judgement and the wherewithal to make Toronto a truly world-class city. What I don’t want is Ford. Kathleen Matthews
To the editor: An open letter to Mayor Rob Ford: Mayor Rob Ford, those hyenas in the press and politicos of the left are gloating you have hit bottom. That may be so, but I hope you will continue to fight for us the downtrodden taxpayers, and that you will continue to serve us the best way you can. I am not expressing my blind loyalty; I am expressing my continuing support of your policies
and appreciation of what you have accomplished so far. Personal foibles As far as I know, your personal foibles have not cost me a cent of my tax dollars, unlike those corrupt, gravy-train-addicted, privileged politicos at other levels of government, whose outrageous scandals will continue to hit my wallet for many years to come. I’d still entrust you with my vote,
rather than put your gravy-trainaddicted opponents in power again. The gravy-train mindset at city hall has got to end. To give you a historical perspective, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln’s most effective field general was General Ulysses Grant, who was known to love the bottle. Upon knowing this, Lincoln made sure the general was well supplied with his liquid nourishment. R. Javier
Cyclists have to play safe on the road, too I have a comment regarding Toronto’s new Stay Safe, Stay Alert campaign. I would like to congratulate the city on finally doing something about the daily after-dark traffic nightmare we in the city must endure. It is time that some common sense rules were laid out for the general public to follow. However, I feel that the warning to
the cyclist’s section has been deliberately watered down. I don’t think that cyclists should merely ‘consider’ wearing bright or reflective clothing. They should be made to. I wish there had been some guidance regarding the quality of the lighting bikes. Most bikes that I can barely see on the roads are equipped with sub-standard front and rear lights that have all of the
illuminating power of a guttering votive candle. Running through stop signs and signal-controlled crosswalks containing pedestrians is a constant problem. Cycling is not a safe activity and unfortunately bad things happen to those who ride them everyday. Can’t we just tell the cycling lobbyists they have to ‘play safe’, too? Chris Belfontaine

Swansea Town Hall commemorates its 20th year The Swansea Town Hall is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a cake and ribbon-cutting party in its new addition, the Village Room on ravine level, Sunday, Nov. 17. In 1990, the Swansea Town Hall, at 95 Lavinia Ave., was in desperate need of upgrading. The building did not meet provincial code standards, according to John Woodburn, a Swansea Town Hall board
member. To cover the cost of renovations, the town hall leased a portion of its land to the government for community social housing. “The government came to us and said, ‘we have money for social housing.’ We thought, ‘that wouldn’t be a bad idea.’ The property was large enough so the town hall could stay,” Woodburn told The Villager during a previous
interview. “The provincial government was willing to pay $1 million for the rental, so we made a deal with the government.” The funds would go to the founding board of the residences, comprised of historical, horticultural, seniors association, ratepayers and the town hall, said Woodburn.
Two decades into the life of the town hall and it’s bustling with activity, according to facilitator Carol Walmsley. There is no shortage of things to do each weeknight from yoga and pilates to dance and martial arts for adults and exercise, educational and arts programs for children. Construction on the town hall’s latest room took place in 2012 and resulted in a

DIANA MATHESON
Gta realtors release monthly resale housing figures Greater Toronto Area realtors reported 8,000 home sales through the TorontoMLS system in October 2013 – up from 6,713 transactions reported in October 2012. Over the same period, new listings on the TorontoMLS system were down. “The GTA home ownership market has been broadly characterized by a rebound in sales since the summer. Market conditions have been tighter in some market segments more so than others. Ground-oriented homes listed for below one million dollars in some areas of the GTA have been especially popular with buyers, while listings for these home types have been constrained,” says Toronto Real Estate Board President Dianne Usher. “The supply of listings for many home types and price points has either been down yearover-year or at least not up by the same annual rate as sales. The additional Land Transfer Tax in the City of Toronto and the removal of the government guarantee on high ratio mortgages for home purchases over one million dollars have arguably led many homeowners not to list,” continues Ms. Usher. The average selling price for TorontoMLS sales in October 2013 was $539,058– up by more than seven per cent in comparison to the average price of $502,127 in October 2012.

The MLS Home Price Index (MLS HPI) Composite Benchmark was up by 4.5 per cent yearover-year. “Growth in the average selling price and the MLS HPI Composite Benchmark will continue through 2014,” says Jason Mercer, the Toronto Real Estate Board’s Senior Manager of Market Analysis. “Inventory levels for ground-oriented home types will be low from a historic perspective and home ownership demand will stay strong as affordability remains in check due to the continuation of accommodative borrowing costs.” – TREB

Create a condo checklist According to a recent forecast from the Canadian Real Estate Association, the housing market is poised to see 3.4 per cent growth in the coming year – and more and more of us are choosing condominiums. Clients should pay close attention to the fine print before signing on the dotted line. Buying a home, whether it is a condo or a single family house, is one of the biggest financial commitments you will make in your life. There are important differences between purchasing single and multi-family homes. When it comes to condos, keeping a few important details in mind can save you headaches in the long run. Ask questions. Knowing the building's history will give you peace of mind. Important questions to ask include: Do the unit owners own the recreational facilities as part of the common property, or does the condominium corporation lease them? How many units are rented? How much money is in the reserve fund and what major expenses, if any, are being considered in the reserve fund plan? Schedule a comprehensive home inspection. This examination should not only include the unit you're considering, but also the building envelope and common areas. When selecting an inspector or engineer, make sure they are qualified to provide a complete and reliable inspection. This will protect your investment in the long run.
Watch for last minute changes. If you've purchased a new-build condo, there is a chance that last minute changes may be made by contractors in construction. Keep a close eye out and don't be afraid to ask questions if something isn't as was initially agreed on. Know what your condo board will cover. Anything to do with the complex's structure is the responsibility of the condominium corporation, but you will need to secure your own insurance to cover personal property, liability or any changes you choose to make to the unit. Understanding the condo corporation and the stability of the reserve funds is crucial. It is critical that you work with your broker to ensure that you not only protect yourself from losses to your own property, but also any costs that may be incurred from losses to the rest of the property that might be underinsured through the corporation. Be proactive with your insurance broker. Depending on the use of your condo, your insurance needs may change. Many condo owners don't realize that by taking on a roommate, or leasing out their unit, their current policy may no longer cover them. Updating your broker on anything from new, valuable contents to cohabitation will ensure that you're properly insured. – www.newscanada.com

Project aims for 600 more participants >>>from page 1 Project Neutral. The survey identifies where households create the most greenhouse gas emissions. Since its inception, as many as 600 households have taken part in the household challenge with a goal of 600 more this time around. Residents have until Dec. 1 to complete it. Two years ago, community leaders in the neighbourhoods of the Junction and Riverdale banded together with Project Neutral to see who could entice the most residents to complete the survey. During the first year, the two tied. The following year, boundaries were expanded to
include households in wards 13 and 30. Last year’s survey results indicate that Junction residents living in a single-family detached or semi-detached home produce a smaller footprint than those in Riverdale. However, Riverdale residents living in a townhouse or apartment have a smaller footprint than those in the Junction.
works to enable “systemic change” in response to climate change. The results of the survey give residents an idea of what their household carbon footprint is and what they can do to reduce it, Zupancic said. Last year’s survey showed that the average household transportation footprint in the Junction was 11.9 tonnes versus 12.7 tonnes in Riverdale; the average distance travelled – by bus, streetcar or subway – per household was 63 kilometres in the Junction and 51 kilometres in Riverdale.
systemic change In its quest for carbon neutrality, Project Neutral often comes across people who are overwhelmed by the complexity of climate change and feeling helpless as to what they can do. The organization

Remembrance Day is a tradition to share across generations Many children know that Remembrance Day is a solemn time to commemorate soldiers’ achievements and sacrifices and to pay respect to solders who died in battle. But they might not know the significance behind the poppy or why we commemorate on November 11. Here is a brief history of some Remembrance Day traditions to share with the kids.
Lest we forget
Armistice Day Remembrance Day was once known as Armistice Day because it marks the signing of the armistice that put an end to the hostilities of World War I. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the year, guns fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare between the Germans and Allied troops. The armistice agreement was signed in a French train carriage at 11 a.m.
Remembrance Day evolution Armistice Day was renamed Remem-
brance Day after World War II to commemorate soldiers from both world wars. It is now used as a way to pay hommage to any fallen soldier. In Canada, Remembrance Day is a statutory holiday in many provinces and territories. Official national ceremonies are held at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Events begin with the tolling of the Carillon in the Peace Tower, during which members of the Canadian Forces participate and congregate at Confederation Square. Similar ceremonies take place in provincial capitals across the country. Very often moments of silence are offered for lost lives.
What about the poppies? One of the unifying symbols of Remembrance Day is the poppy that is worn to honor lost soldiers. The bold, red color of the flower has become an enduring symbol of those who died so that others may be free. The poppy became a symbol for a spe-
cific reason. Some of the most concentrated fighting of World War I took place in Flanders, a region in western Belgium. As a result of the fighting, most signs of natural life had been obliterated from the region, leaving behind mud and not much else. The only living thing to survive was the poppy flower, which bloomed with the coming of the warm weather the year after fighting in the region had ceased. Poppies grow in disturbed soil and can lie dormant in the ground without germinating. Without the war, they may have never come to the surface. John McCrae, a doctor serving with the Canadian Armed Forces, was moved by the vision of poppies flowering in Flanders and wrote a poem titled “In Flanders Fields.” After the poem was published, it received international acclaim, and the poppy became a popular symbol of those lost in battle. Men traditionally wear the poppy on the left side of the chest, where a military medal would be placed. Wom-

Advisory panel says ‘Big Move’ could still be modified Report states dividing plan into ‘digestible phases’ would reduce funding pressure RAHUL GUPTA rgupta@insidetoronto.com A report from an advisory panel convened by the premier to examine transit-focused taxes and fees says Metrolinx’s Big Move plan could be further modified. The Transit We Need, the new report from the Transit Investment Strategy Advisory Panel, suggests elements of The Big Move – which aims to build over 100-kilometres of new transit connections across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area over 25 years – may require “strategic modifications” due to the financial constraints of the provincial Liberals. “As a result of both changing conditions and emerging priorities, the Panel does not view The Big Move as written in stone,” states the report, listing a number of factors such as a provincial stimulus plan in the wake of a worldwide economic recession that created a higher provincial budget deficit, and the need to tie infrastructure construction

Available at the group’s website, CivcAction’s list of 32 reasons claims better-funded transit will boost job creation, increase quality of life and improve civic pride, among other things. The campaign appropriately runs for 32 days, ending Dec. 2 with a call to the Wynne Liberals to include more transit funding in the 2014 spring provincial budget. Some budding East York artists have commenced work on a mural to go up along the construction hoardings surrounding Woodbine Station. Young Artists in Transit sought community feedback for the mural which will feature images inspired by the history of the Danforth. The artists also consulted with Toronto’s official poet laureate George Elliott Clarke. The mural will adorn Woodbine hoardings starting next year, when the TTC begins renovations, which includes the construction of an additional station exit. The work is expected to be completed in 2016. Rahul Gupta is The Villager’s transit reporter. His column appears every Thursday. Reach him on Twitter: @TOinTRANSIT

Don’t give out personal information to anyone you don’t know, warn police.
“A lot of these scams are underreported, especially with seniors,” she added. “Often, seniors don’t want their family to know that they’ve been vulnerable and they don’t want anyone to think they’re no longer capable of handling themselves.” Another common scams is called the grandparent or nephew scam. According to a recent public safety alert issued by Toronto Police Services, perpetrators of this type of scam will often obtain critical information about their prey from obituaries and social media – family information they then use to convince the senior that they are a relative (most commonly a grandchild) in desperate need of money.
Victims of the grandparent scam are then instructed by the caller to send money via a wire transfer, such as Western Union or Money Gram. While the amount of money requested and handed over varies with the scam, Drummond said the results are often devastating for the elderly person scammed no matter how small the sum. “When you’re dealing with seniors, even a smaller value may be a life’s savings for some,” she said. Another common scam Drummond has seen targeted at seniors is the home repair and renovation sham. “In that case, someone comes
to your door and says ‘hey, I was working on your neighbour’s house and while I was up there I was able to see your roof. I felt I had to come and tell you, because your roof’s going to cave in on you any day unless you fix it,’” Drummond said of the con artist’s modus operandi. “The senior, of course, has no way of getting up on the roof and verifying the damage, so they agree to have the person ‘fix’ their roof.” The crook will then climb up and hammer around a bit, giving the illusion that they’re fixing the senior’s roof, when in reality no repairs are being done. In the end, they collect a big pay cheque – for nothing. To help combat any such scams against vulnerable seniors, Drummond said families and caregivers need to strike up and maintain frequent lines of communication with their elderly loved ones in order to ensure they’re not being taken advantage of. “If you have someone in your life who is older, talk to them about these scams. You don’t want to take away all of their responsibilities in their own home, but ensure that you have communication. Talk to them and find out if they talked to anybody during the day. If they mention any suspicious phone calls, get as much information as you can to see what is happening,” she said.

Help your new cat adjust Bringing a cat or kitten home is exciting for anyone, but getting used to a new housemate can take some time. However, there are a few things you can do to make the transition easier and help your new family member feel settled faster. Sanctuary: Set up a sanctuary room for your cat. This can be a spare bedroom with a door that can shut until your new cat has adjusted to his surroundings. This will keep kitty separate from his new home (and other cats) until he's more comfortable. Resources: By providing your cat with all the necessary resources, you eliminate the stress or tension your cat may feel as he transitions into your home. Litter boxes:Make sure the litter box is easily accessible and appealing to your cat, or better still, locat-
ing litter boxes throughout your home can prevent any mishaps from occurring. To keep your cat happy, clean the box often and use an odour neutralizing product. Spend time with your new cat: Let your new cat get used to you in doses (a few hours a day); initiate play to help him feel more relaxed and confident in his new environment. Sometimes your cat will need time to warm up to you so make sure to give him the privacy and alone time he needs. Slowly introduce your new family member to other pets: This must be done in a calm, non-confrontational way. Let your new cat explore the house without the other pets, allowing him to become accustomed to the other animals' scents. – newscanada.com

was ejected, and the van landed on him, killing him instantly,” she said. “I had always told my son about drinking and driving, and I should’ve also stressed getting into a car with an impaired driver.” Souranis said the “profound grief” she and her family have gone through is difficult to explain. “The person that I was did not survive.” Police, fire and EMS personnel gathered at Toronto police headquarters to kick off the campaign, which runs until Jan. 6. As part of the initiative, volunteers will distribute millions of red ribbons to attach to vehicles, key chains, purses and backpacks as a reminder to drive sober. “I want all of the people in our city to understand the importance of this campaign to bring greater awareness to the need to keep our roadways safe,” Toronto police Chief Bill Blair said. Deputy EMS Chief Cindy Nicholson said the devastation caused by
drunk drivers stays with first responders. “I certainly saw some of those awful tragedies and when you finish dealing with the patient, then you’ve got the collateral damage of the family,” she said. “It’s horrific to watch them come into the hospital and realize that their loved one is gone.” Nicholson said she still has memories of an alcohol-related crash she responded to as a paramedic in the late 1980s that took the life of a child. Pointing to a poster with photos of hundreds of people who have lost their lives to drunk drivers, Souranis said: “It saddens me to no end to know that our sadness is multiplied hundreds and thousands of times.” Souranis stressed it’s a choice to drive impaired. “It’s a choice, and you are risking not only your own life but all those around you,” she said. “MADD is not against drinking. All we want is for people to think ahead, to plan ahead.”

On the trail of the next big hockey star
I
love dropping by the local rinks to catch kids’ minor hockey. There’s always a good buzz the moment you walk inside the arena, particularly for AAA games. I was in Westwood Arena on the weekend and bumped into a couple of long-time scouts, Hank and Vinny, leaning over the railing. They were in an animated debate over a player Vinny had been talking up all morning. Hank: “Come on, man. You think I just fell off a turnip truck? You really expect me to believe the kid is a combination of Crosby and McDonald? “ Vinny: “No, I don’t. You left out Gilmour, man. You keep forgetting Gilmour.” Hank: “So, you’re saying Crosby, McDonald AND Gilmour?” Vinny: “Yes!” Hank: “Until sanity sets in, man. Would you listen to yourself? Every year some poor kid is subjected to enormous hype. The rumour spreads
jamie wayne BUT SERIOUSLY through the hockey community like a brush fire and when you finally see him on the ice he can’t even generate enough of a spark to light a cigarette for Mini-Me.” Vinny: “Mini-Me smokes? No wonder he’s so short.” Hank: “It was an analogy, noodlebrain. I don’t know if he smokes.” Vinny: “Boy, I sure hope he doesn’t. A lot of people look up to him, you know?” Hank: “Who the heck looks up to Mini-Me? He’s, like, three feet tall. And quit trying to change the subject. This ain’t about him. This is about this combination Crosby, McDonald and Gilmour nonsense.” Vinny: “It ain’t nonsense. He’s playing at Chesswood Arena tomorrow. If you don’t believe me, you can come with me and check him out for yourself.”
Hank: “Maybe I will.” Vinny: “Will you just accept the possibility that his guy is all I say he is and get off my case already? I have no reason to lie. My reputation is on the line here.” Hank: “You really are serious, aren’t you?” Vinny: “Never been more serious about anything in my life. Now can we just shut the lid on this kid once and for all and go back to watching this game?” Hank: “OK. OK. You’ve sold me.” Vinny: “Finally. Lord have mercy.” Hank: “Man, oh man. So, it’s true then after all. A combination Crosby, McDonald AND Gilmour. Wow. This I gotta see.” Vinny: “Of course, I’m referring to Bing Crosby, Ronald McDonald and Happy Gilmore. Gotcha.”
