What day is it today? I know, is it some day or any day. Could be either I guess- by now you’re clear that I’ve lost track not only of my weighing scale but also calendar sensitivity.

Hours pass by with me in front of the laptop screaming words that Oxford group wouldn’t have come across yet- all for my internet to speed up! If only this was a real test for matrimony- millions would be happily single. But as I conceive that thought, I realize everyone could do with some in house company this lock down to over come boredom and to also have an easy target, if only my fear of turning cannibal does even see its day.

Brace yourselves for now concerts are conducted on social media sites and

tinder dates will merely be with words this month. Parents deal with kids they didn’t know too well and kids deal with a different millennium indoors. We live with people who show a new- never -seen before face and with ideas so sharp in-contrast that you suddenly start doubting genetics.

We see our “passing phase” becomes a little too long lived and patience, short.

Everyone’s control and determination are suddenly tested whilst sarcasm put to work on over-time. Wives, become

Homemakers are acknowledged for what they really are- Super stars. Members start appreciating each one’s role in the well oiled family. Personal-space becomes the lesser known and boundaries, forgotten. Every room becomes war zone and everyone becomes a scholar in hygiene.

With nothing better to do, workingout starts looking like a possible life choice and daily chores take on a new appearance. Some become chefs and others alcoholics. Some become artists and others lose their sanity. Some take a step closer to blindness with increased screen-time whilst others towards hearing aids. Where some, face their family members, others turn towards their lost hobbies. But what we all share is the increased intake of food and answering office meetings in pajamas while in bed.

drill masters and husbands, are over come with OCD. Passive aggression takes a front table, while issues crept under the carpet, start popping up more often than none. Honey-moon period vanishes in relationships and promises, faces spotlight. Over -thinking becomes our day job and castles in the air, becomes over crowded. People lose track of reasons to drink and come up with excuses to take a walk. Groceries become everyone’s trouble and everyone become political strategists.

For extroverts this is prison or an extended period of introspectionit’s not all salt however- there are virtual games, classes and video conferencing keeping them intact; for Those introverts - everything seems to be with a touch of Christmas. The pinch of salt comes when we realize that- all along we stayed home BY choice and now we’re forced to take up social distancing as a form of healthy lifestyle- and when the choice goes out the window, we lose interest. Not to forget, they’re now blanketed with attention now -which by itself could be bitter sweet.

What introverts were mocked for last month, is now being followed by one and all. Tables turning probably?

The warmth of hot summer sunsets There is this old song from the movie Idhayam called “April May-ile”. It’s a lovely tune by Ilayaraja pictured in the mid-nineties. It talks about these young guys, school college going crowd on their summer vacation here and how its dry and fallow, without their quota of seeing damsels sway in the months of June and July like a breeze and the lack of colour during summer. It paints a pretty dull picture about the typical young adults’ version of summer and the boredom that comes along with it, and it’s not like they were wholesomely occupied and entertained in the 90’s, not more so now. The song was playing in the background somewhere as I worked through this time of isolation and it struck a chord with me about how the song didn’t talk an integral part of summer.

We live in a tropical country and more so in one of the most humid cities in the country. Anyone who describes the weather in Chennai, will only say “Hot, Hotter, Hottest”. And it feels like a year long summer. But that doesn’t stop us from living our lives on full throttle, does it, or are we just used to it? Maybe we are. But Chennai summers are a thing.

The sweltering heat and the scores of people moving on about their lives as though their bodies were tailored to live in a sauna. The popping of watermelon shops, lime juice, sugarcane juice and sherbet stalls at every 10th meter and a bunch of people parked nearby relishing in the temporary relief, only to get back into the grind. The kids playing cricket in an open ground at noon, bearing the possibility of a stroke for the rush of adrenalin at a six or a wicket. And many little intricate things that make our Singara Sauna a sight to bear the heat. But one thing that we all do unconsciously during the peak hours of this time, is enjoy a sunset.

Well, lets face it we are a city, that’s borders face east, so our sunsets are the pretty ones on Long beach or Goa, but our sunset is a convolution of humanity. I’ve observed people, whether at home or in their workplaces or in a random public spot, take their time to breathe in their share of the evening glory of summer as a pause to their lives that has been ramified by this heat through the day. The come out of their hideouts of shade, their corners away from the light, at home or work or at any place they are at the moment. The stand right amid the light, squinting their eyes to see the sun and bask in it. This in so sense means that the intensity of the heat is reduced or is kinder, the heat is still there. And people compliment it with more heat. They come on to their balconies with coffee dabras and mugs and sit and pause. The office workers head over to their balcony or terrace and sit while there is a hot breeze, sifting through their hair. The people on the streets stop at a tea shop for a chai, bajji and a smoke. The fitness junkies go for a walk or a run. But they all come out and bask in the heat of the evening sun for a pause.

There is a certain ethereal warmth to this heat. It doesn’t prick, like in the middle of day, blending with the pollution of the surrounding and scorch one’s skin to a crisp.

Neither does it help soothe the burn of the afternoon sun like medicated ointment. It is a heat that gives one comfort about one’s life. It would be a mystery to wonder what everyone thinks during this time. Will the homemaker in her balcony would wonder when her children would come back and what her chore is in store next? Or would she be dreaming of her summer escape with her husband, just her and him, to a far-off place where they can be themselves without inhibition? The old man who is talking a walk maybe wondering about the perils of the younger generation or maybe reminiscing the good old days with his buddies on the very same street. The girl on her office terrace with the mug of coffee is probably weaning off her mangers yelling or dreaming of riding her bike into the sunset. I hope they are all thinking of the latter. Or better still nothing at all. I hope they are, because the time of the day is beautiful. It’s a pause. A brief moment where they don’t have to worry about it sweating or being too hot or their worldly worries. They have heat and some more heat to accompany it that makes their heart, a lil bit warmer.

I, for a person who is supposedly a writer, go blank at this time of the day. My mind becomes a still pond of water that just reflects what I see. I see a huge ball of burning fire in the distance, with the buildings silhouetted in front. There is a hue of orange, the colour of the fruit, in sheets of aerosol reflections all around me. The clouds are dollops of vanilla ice cream with shades of red and orange on them like topping because of the aerosol hue. The sky is a big blue crystal bowl that holds them together. The clouds aren’t melting and the colour isn’t sticky. It is just there around. And the in the heat, I stand, sweating, and blankly reflecting the view I see, in silence.

Hot summer evenings are our lifeline, as they are the pause to engines that keep running without a stop. Whether the sweltering heat burs us out or not, we sure may at the way we are going. And this pause and the hugs of heat it provides, help us to live, so we die another day. The song described the months of summer as dull, drab and boring. Try to pause one evening and enjoy the heat. April May-ile, maalai pozhudhin mayakkathile, the heat and sunset, may not be so bad after all.

Poetry might stay under the literature wing but if you ask me, it is nothing less than a medium.

Since the olden days, poetry has been one such medium which held records of various events across the globe and what’s inside our minds.

It was through poetry that Robert Frost inspired the young men and women of this world to choose ‘The Road Not Taken’ and it was through poetry again how Walt Whitman chose to write the perfect Eulogy for the late American President Abraham Lincoln.

EYES Poetry is not only what we read in our English textbooks. It is also felt when we stand with our heads high and immense pride while singing Saare Jahan se Acha, Hindustan Hamara

by Muhammad Iqbal. It is what will always stay on the lands we walk through.

And as the day ticked to the current world, poetry yet again take us to a new world as hundreds of poets express their inner thoughts with the help of similes and metaphors on various social media websites, open mics, college fests, bon fires etc. Among these poets, is

on such soul residing in Kolkata known for his wonderous poems which don’t just send palpations to a man’s heart but also has him sit still staring at the empty wall full of thoughts.

Sonnet Mondal in 2010 was featured one of the Famous Five of Bengali Youths in the India Today Magazine and as one of the celebrated authors of Forbes in 2014 and 2015. He has also won the Gayathri Gamarsh Memorial Award in 2016 for literary excellence.

Furthermore, he is also the founder director of Chair Poetry Evenings International Festival in Kolkata which help people bring out the poets in them. Having travelled wide, Mondal talks to the Brew about his journey, travels and much more.

At what age did you gravitate towards poetry?

Hard to be precise on this as there were different phases of getting into reading poetry or taking interest in the form and finally starting to write poetry. But I remember completing my first poem at the age of 15.

Take us through your poetic journey.

The best way in which I can take you through my poetic journey is through my poems, the latest ones being in my book “Karmic Chanting” (Copper Coin).

If I have to speak about my poetic career, it would rather mean to speak about myself, which is tough for me – as we are not able

to see our inner self until we close our eyes.

And when we open our eyes again, we tend to forget whatever we saw about our inner self.

Still, if I have to take you through my process of writing, I see myself as a person who writes, writes out of curiosity, writes out of hunger, writes out of love and for whom poetry is the best medium of writing when it comes to expressing those thoughts which cannot be depicted through direct and exact sentences.

What inspires you to write?

My inspiration arises from the reaction of my consciousness with daily incidents, accidents and encounters, and takes its form through the words I chant to realise the importance of Karma and awareness in my life. The poems I write are a part of my ‘Knowing’ which is supported by the unwavering will to inquire, perceive and discern.

There is an imperfect fit between our perceptions, actuality, and articulation. Poetry for me fills up this gap or at least gives an identity to it. Poems also help me create and recreate a much-coveted life that is sometimes far from existence but imperative to my life as a whole.

Are you an old soul or the modern-day poet?

I feel poetry is ageless and timeless. So, these terms do not have relevance to my perception of being a poet.

Your work today is spread across the globe. Did you think that you would have that impact when you started writing?

I never did. In fact, I write for myself first. Whether it would create any impact or not depends.

Among the places you’ve read your poetry, which one is your favourite?

It was the 2014 Bridges Poetry event of Struga Poetry Evenings, Macedonia.

Your last book Karmic Chanting was released in 2018.

Any new books coming up?

I am currently working on a travelogue and my next book of poems.

What’s your favourite piece of work?

There are too many to mention here.

How has it changed you as a person?

Well reading from that stage didn’t bring about a change in my style of writing or perceiving things, but the whole tour as a whole gave me some long-lasting friends, some of whom I appreciate being my critics till date.

Have you travelled somewhere just to write poetry?

No. Not in the first instance but I retravelled to Istanbul to finish couple of my poems. I drew inspiration from an island there. Generally, for writing poems, I find my bedroom as the most suitable place.

Poetry aside, you are also an editor. How would you define yourself as an editor?

How different is it than being a poet?

I think the job of an editor remains the same throughout and like every discerning reader, I enjoy reading submissions but the limited space creates a scavenger out of us sometime. No editor can be all inclusive. The deficiency of one, is made up by the editor of another magazine. This is how the world of publishing moves.

An editor’s job is quite different from being a poet, but it helps me read a lot of good contemporary poems – mostly unpublished ones.

What’s the story behind Chair Poetry Evenings?

I visited Tushar’s apartment in Malabar 27

Hills, Mumbai in June 2017, when I saw a Mahogany chair perfect for a writer, placed beside his balcony by the Arabian Sea. I remember sitting there till 2 o’ clock at night with a pen and paper in my hand. By morning I had completed penning almost 4 poems sitting there. The chair and its positioning were so perfect that I felt one can go on writing on various topics from here. It brought about the perfect atmosphere for penning poetry.

Later, one evening in the month of late September 2017, a month after Tushar’s relocation to Kolkata, an informal evening of poetry was arranged at his residence.

While the idea of starting an international festival in Kolkata was already there in our mind, the naming of this festival as Chair Poetry Evenings was born on this day.

You’ve mentioned that – ‘We do not have a history. We are in the process of writing it.’ Since its inception, can you share a few tales which fall in terms with the quote?

There isn’t much twist in this statement.

This festival is new compared to the other poetry festivals around the world. And with every poem that is being read in this festival, I believe it is adding to the pages of our history.

If you get a chance to have a soulful conversation with an author/poet, dead or alive, who would it be?

I would like it to be with Rabindranath Tagore.

Syria is still considered a sensitive subject but you’ve found a way to incorporate the horrors in your poems.

How did you manage that?

I wrote both of my poems on Syria while I was in Istanbul just after the twin blasts in Aleppo where a school was bombed. My emotional outbursts in these poems were reinforced when I saw couple of Syrian children begging for food outside Ataturk airport.

A word for the upcoming poets/ writers.

From ancient times, poetry and poets have played a momentous role in giving rise to debates and discourses that have shaped the literary history of a nation. Upholding the truth, balancing it with imagination is the literary duty of a poet toward society and I think this type of writing has much more futuristic role to play than the flimsily news items we encounter every day. That which lies on paper as poetry shapes our cultural theory. So, we should always be careful to sustain the ideologies of humanity while writing poems.

A lover of people and their stories, from a small village called Hosadale in Karnataka, twenty-three-year-old Naveen Tejaswi’s life is what Paulo Coelho calls creating a masterpiece out of absolute void.

Naveen started out with a simple degree in the science stream in hopes of becoming a scientist. At a later stage, with his inherent love for people and their stories, cinema became an add on when his college’s English department screened world cinema.

On a spree of realizations, Naveen says that right from his childhood, he had an inclination towards photographs. When he was a kid, he used to attend family functions where he closely observed the photographer and was very fascinated by him.

A month later, when the physical copies would arrive, he would study them with absolute fascination and fell in love with them. Hence for the love of it, he got a second hand Nikon camera and ventured into street photography.

One fine afternoon in the middle of September 2017, as he walked down the road, past a second hand book store, he saw a heap of National Geographic magazines.

He asked for the price, which was only twenty rupees of cash; a very affordable rate, so he bought them.

When he posted on Facebook about it, with a picture of the cover of the magazine that had Steve McCurry’s famous work - ‘The Afghan Girl’ on it, a friend commented on that post suggesting that he go ahead and cover the humanitarian crisis. Ignited by this idea, he planned to work towards the achievement of it and to enable himself, he took a lot of part time jobs. At a point in time, when he realized that money is the only thing that held him back, he tried to crowdfund and capture Rohingya refugees in the rawness of their camps.

He spent months in research before taking the actual step of action. In hopes to receive operational help, he reached out to a lot of NGOs via e-mailed and received no response for a long time.

Finally, when one of them agreed, he started his journey to the campsite where many journalists were killed and refugees resided in unfavourable conditions of Cox Bazar at the border of Myanmar. ‘I knew nobody and had no idea about the language they spoke’ says Naveen. The night he reached Dhaka, the NGO that promised help, withdrew. As Plan B, he got a local sim card and lodged himself in a hotel. With ten plus refugee camps to visit, he went to the UNHCR - The United Nations High Commissioner for refugees, met people and sought help from them for translations. The second day of his visit a kind medical practitioner offered to help him with trans In that process, once he published them on his social media pages, he became the first person from South of India to publish photo essays on Rohingya refugee camps.

Otherwise, generally he likes to capture the streets of Bengaluru around the lives of Migrants, North Karnataka people who inspire him and the culture that is.

Holding on to a belief that the emotion behind it is what makes a good picture, he believes that even though the gadget or the device is important to capture a photograph of good impact and intensity, he believes that it is superficial and the significance should be accredited to the intent of the photographer. Taking after the words of Eve Arnold, he strongly seconds that the instrument is the photographer and not the camera.

Technically, he likes to look at the composure and framing. Currently, he enjoys the work of Sanjay Jha - who covers the happenings in Kashmir.

When asked if there are certain genres of pictures he will not capture, Naveen says that he would never go ahead and capture pictures that he would not be able to do complete justice for the raw emotions of the photograph.

Having grown up in a village, he cites incidents where he has experienced the downsides of casteism and therefore made a short film ‘Bidugade’ on it. He cast people from his family and also included some neighbours from his village.

As for the location, he chose to show the realness of his village. He and his team of friends then sent it to Film Festivals in India and abroad, which were free of cost. As much he thought that he’d never make a film, he was given the sweet surprise that he didn’t see coming when The Kolkata People’s Film Festival shortlisted and screened it under ‘New Indian Fiction’ category.

The film was in the line up of 34 films that caught the rapt attention of the Jury.

Many renowned directors, filmmakers and personalities like Arundhati Roy appreciated the ideation and core concept of his film. Bidugade has also won an award from KYISFF 2020 - The Karnataka Youth International Short Film Festival presented by the Filmaholic foundation.

As a lad of persistence and humanitarian values, who learnt English by watching world cinema with subtitles, has life values that adhere to inspiring literature, life-changing music, intense travelling and storytelling, a lover of people, their stories, culture and their lifestyles, he enlists his passion in the order of his liking - the second of it would be storytelling and the first, listening.

CARTOON PRODIGY RESTS

As people amongst a variety of generations and periods, we’ve all been one to say, ‘Oh, what does your generation even know of mine. We had the first computers or first 3D movies blah blah blah…’ The conversation soon falls in a playful argument on who had the best. For some it’s Charlie Chaplin and for some others it’s Mr. Bean. But the one thing which the people of 60’s, 70’s to the ones in 20’s too agree is the stomach-churning laughter while watching simple ideas turn brilliant like a cat chasing a mouse a.k.a – Tom and Jerry.

While Tom and Jerry made our lives joyous, I remember vividly asking my mom to make me spinach because I wanted to be strong like Popeye. Like me, Popeye influenced loads of kids to eat spinach so one could stand up to bullies.

Yet, although I’ve been nostalgic while watching today’s efforts of cartoons, I write this story to honour the man who made all of our childhoods memorable and fun. The man behind the screens of the best of toons – the late Mr. Gene Deitch.

I believe Mr. Deitch started aiming high since his early years as he began his career in aviation by drawing blue prints for aircrafts.

Sadly, during World War II he was honourably discharged due to pneumonia. But who knew that this would turn the tables for Mr. Gene Deitch!

His love for cartoons and graphics bloomed when he created covers for a jazz magazine – The Record Changer after leaving the U.S. Army. The Record Changer had definitely been a game changer for Gene Deitch when he designed a geeky cat titled ‘The Cat’ in 1948 which was followed by a series of similar cats. It was compiled into a

book named ‘The Cat on a Hot Thin Groove’ in 2003.

Film in 1961, Deitch had been nominated for the Academy Awards once before for Sidney the Elephant Cartoons in 1958. He lost but it gave exposure to Gene Deitch as another one of his cartoons – Tom Terrific was considered to have been the inspiration behind the toons like ‘Peabody and Sherman’.

A while later after the Record Changer came the period where Gene Deitch chose to be a director and producer alongside being an animator. While it is true that Deitch’s Munro won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short

Meanwhile, another tale twisted in Gene’s life. He was fired from Terrytoons where he designed the Tom Terrific cartoons.

Following his firing, he launched his own Animation Studios. He travelled to Prague with the idea that he would reside there for 10 days but fell in love with a local woman Zdenka Neumannova and ended up moving to Prague for the rest of his life.

After the success of Munro, Popeye was on-air circling for a while by Fleischer Brothers but was soon adapted by a band of different productions whose director

happened to be Gene Deitch. Popeye became ‘Popeye the Sailor’ in 1960 and soon the tune was sung all around the world by kids of different ages munching happily on spinach.

But if you ask me, the golden days were born when Tom and Jerry made their entry into the world of television. Though the cat and mouse won everyone’s hearts thereafter, during the period of 1957 when the idea was being played with, Gene wasn’t fond of the cartoon since it seemed violent during those days.

Gene Deitch wasn’t alone on not favouring the cartoon since the critics too weren’t pleased and gave mixed reactions to the Tom and Jerry. Yet, the production of Tom and Jerry did not stop and was continued by Chuck Jones who was known for Looney Tunes. While this may have been one side of the coin, the other side ravished of success. People loved the cat and mouse and till date defend the cartoon saying it was one of the best of times.

The animator went on to create more cartoons spending the rest of his life in Prague. The mastermind of 50’s generation passed away at the age of 95 on April 16th, 2020.

Gene Deitch wasn’t simply an animator or simply a director. He was the master.

He left behind such a rich legacy that it is impossible to put a count on it. Be it comic strips or cartoons of today, it holds no doubt that Deitch’s work during the golden days, definitely paved path for the animators to come.

The animation phenomenon may have passed away but Tom will keep chasing Jerry for the rest of our lives

The Eiffel Tower – one of the world’s most iconic monuments has been the symbol of Paris and France. Every year on March 31st, which is designated as Eiffel Tower Day, visitors and local denizens of Paris celebrate this day with great pomp and grandeur.

In fact, the festival spans for a week and the year 2019 was the 130th anniversary of this majestic monument where visitors were offered a bewildering array of fun activities, all aimed at familiarising them with the pros and cons of this stupendous monument, globally recognized as an “Engineering Marvel”.

The Tower has been an object of dispute, desire and fascination. It was built by Gustave Eiffel in the year 1889 with the primary intention of celebrating 100 years of the French Revolution. At that time towards the last phase of the 19th century, the Tower was the manifestation of France’s engineering prowess.

Thanks to constant renovation and restoration, the Tower would have lasted for just 20 years, otherwise. The Tower stands as a testimony to numerous landmark events in France’s quest for excellence in the scientific world – the first radio signals from the Tower in 1898, serving as a military radio post in 1903 and the first public radio transmission programme in 1925 to name just a few.

As a symbol of France and its glittering capital city of Paris, the Tower welcomes close to 7 million visitors every year that has earned it the tag of being one of the most visited monuments in the world.

Since the Tower is a “pay-to-enter” monument, buying tickets is mandatory.

SETE has come up with the novel “timestamped e-tickets”, that is a great time saver. Tickets can be booked up to two months in advance. The peak season is the period from July-August when the visitor traffic is unusually high as compared to other months.

Time permitting, many visitors who have visited the Tower in the daytime also make it a point to visit the Tower by night, when this majestic monument is all decked up by a blaze of lights. Eiffel The Tower is open until 23:45, and in the summer 00:45.

The Tower has two main entry points – Entry Point 1 to the South and Entry Point 2 to the East. Every visitor has to pass through security checks at these points. Those who want to go to the top should head for the South Point, where tickets are available for the 2nd Floor as well as for the top. As you embark on perhaps one of life’s most cherished desire – a climb to the top of Eiffel Tower, bear in mind that you will have to climb 1,710 steps to be on top of this stupendous 984-foot-tall tower.

The original spiral staircase which the Tower’s architect Gustave Eiffel had built has been done away with and a newer version was amalgamated skilfully. However, remnants of the old spiral staircase, a small portion really, measuring 4.30 meters is carefully preserved on the first floor.

10th March 2020 was a memorable day for the players of Chennayin FC as they scored a major point in the fashion sector.

Chennaiyin FC’s Bespoke Tailoring Partners - His Studio today unveiled their brand new ‘The Donegal’ collection with CFC’s star striker Nerijus Valskis and left-back Jerry Lalrinzuala.

A look inside the HIS Studio takes you on a tour of suits but of course, only the best is reserved for the star players. His Studio, in their second year of association with CFC, have styled the Marina Machans’ home matchday attire, with the players and staff walking out of the team bus in custom-made and finely crafted suits. Hence it was only apt for the bespoke tailoring brand to unveil a brand-new collection of fabrics and suiting in their presence.

‘Style Maketh A Man’ is what the luxury line of fabrics has been called making sure the brand has envisioned that encapsulates the qualities that define an ideal man in this day and age.

As part of the campaign, His Studio outlines four integral qualities discipline, integrity, silent confidence and charisma - that make a man and their new collection embodies these qualities blending together.

“We have used this platform to unveil our collection named ‘The Donegal’.

The Donegal tweed fabric is an Irishpatented fabric which has a lot of unique characteristics and definitely stands out. We are extremely happy to have introduced this collection amidst the Chennaiyin FC team and we would also like to thank Valskis and Jerry for taking time off their busy schedule and honour us by their presence,” said Abhay Nahar, Managing Partner, His Studio.

Maheen Afshan in conversation with the men of the day, The season has been so good so far. What are your thoughts about it?

Nerijus Valskis: Yes, it has been good. We have been working on it step by step. We’ve had some new techniques, new training and a lot more. It has been quite intense.

Jerry Lalrinzuala: It’s all well. The players are all brilliant and motivating.

(To Jerry Lalrinzuala) How different is it playing against states than playing for the country?

It’s sometimes difficult to play away from our home, India but even while playing in your home, it’s not exactly easy. We’re different people of course, but we all play together as a team no matter where we are from.

(To Nerijus Valskis) You’ve been titled the hero of the month. How was the experience?

(To Nerijus Valskis) Are you used to the Chennai climate? Do you think you’ll be able to pull of a suit under this hot weather?

It’s been well. Thanks to all my fans, the supporters who love me, especially our staff, our team mates, our medical team and everyone else. It was not a one-man job; It was a team who’s always had my back.

Oh, I’m very happy to wear a suit at our home game. It gives me so much confidence and pulls off an incredibly smart look. It’s a good initiation.

How was it unveiling the new line by HIS Studios?

Nerijus Valskis: It’s been a good experience.

It’s not easy to make suits. I am on the field most of the time but to come out and learn the new line, unveil it… It’s a good feeling.

Jerry Lalrinzuala: It gives us really good confidence. We’ve seen players wear them but to sport it yourself, that brings out a unique level of confidence in oneself.

What would you like to say to the upcoming players?

Nerijus Valskis: Just believe and do your best.

Jerry Lalrinzuala: Not much but just work hard everyday because if you want to play you need to excel in practise. Keep working hard and you’ll definitely achieve one day.
