IN CASE YOU DIDN’T HEAR ABOUT WHAT GOD HAS BEEN DOING AT THE BRIDGE…

BRIDGE STUDENT MISSIONS TRIPS It’s been a busy summer already for our Students! At the beginning of June, Bridge Students took over 50 students to Arlington, TX and 20 students to Los Angeles, CA for a short term mission’s trip. Both trips were amazing opportunities for our students to serve and extend Christ’s love.

BRIDGE KIDS VBS This year’s Bridge Kids VBS was a huge success! By adopting an ancient Egyptian theme and teaching through the incredible stories of Joseph, over 350 kids were able to attend throughout the week and here how God is always faithful! A big “SHOUT OUT” to our church’s children’s ministry and volunteers for an incredible week for our kids!

BRIDGE STUDENTS YOUTH CAMP Once again, Spark, Oklahoma was invaded by over 200 of our church’s teenagers as they got the opportunity to attend this year’s youth camp! It was an amazing week of wild games, Frito pies, and powerful messages of God’s love for each of them! Thank you to each of you who supported through prayer our teenagers this week. And thanks to our youth ministry staff and volunteers who made this week possible!

THINGS GOD USES TO DEEPEN YOUR FAITH This month as we explore the topic of faith, you may begin thinking about people you have met whose great faith has inspired you. These are people who have dared to go beyond the banks of shallow faith. Their life may create a desire in you to deepen you own faith too. If you find yourself wanting to see your faith stretched and continue to mature, here are 5 things that God can use to deepen your faith.

PRACTICAL TEACHING When you sit under someone who explains the Bible in practical ways, your faith grows. It could be a Bible study leader, a mentor, or a pastor. A good and gifted teacher can help the Word come alive practically in your life. Who are those practical teachers in your life? How are they helping you deepen your faith? If you find yourself feeling that you don’t enough practical teaching in your life, let us encourage you to consider joining a Sunday Morning Small Group, Wednesday night growth group, or even begin using the free resource Right Now Media. For more information about Right Now Media visit the church website.

PRIVATE DISCIPLINES When you begin to practice the private disciplines of Bible

PERSONAL MINISTRY When you begin to serve others, whether it’s working as a greeter, helping at a homeless shelter, leading a small group or serving coffee to others, God will meet you at your point of service. Often we allow fears, our own doubts in our abilities, and even our time schedules to inhibit our ability to serve. However, by not serving, we severe a crucial artery in which God can use to deepen our faith. When we see how sharing his love to the people around us can change circumstance and lives, our faith is deepened as we are more in tune with the power of God. Perhaps now is the time to begin serving your church, community, and even your neighbors.

PIVOTAL CIRCUMSTANCES There are many moments, forks in the road, and valleys of decision in our lives. Moments when you have to choose whether to trust God or go your own way. When you choose to trust God in those pivotal circumstances, your faith in God will strengthen. C.S. Lewis writes, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” It is often easy to factor God out of our lives when things are good. Equally, it is difficult to factor him in when things aren’t good. It is in the pivotal circumstances that we must remember, God wants us to cling to him, and allow our faith to be deepened.

PROVIDENTIAL RELATIONSHIPS There are relationships that come into your life that, looking back, you would say were providential. That guy at work, that lady down the street, that grandmother who showed you what it meant to follow Christ. God regularly uses providential relationship to help our faith deepen. Think back, who has God brought into your life at crucial times? These kinds of relationships are pivotal in our spiritual development and needed to expand our faith to the depths God wants to lead us.

reading, prayer, fasting, tithing, etc., your faith will begin to deepen. As you trust God and develop strong habits, your faith strengthens. Since strong human relationships are held together through discipline and self-control, we should not be too surprised to discover that our relationship with God requires the element of discipline as well. After all, discipline is about routine. Every healthy relationship is held together partly by disciplined actions and routines. Regularly practicing these disciplines draws us into a closer, more intimate, more dependent relationship with our heavenly Father. As a result, we learn to trust him more, increasing our faith. Which of the disciplines listed above can you begin to more consistently do this week? THEBRIDGEAG.ORG / 9
