Frequently Asked Questions for your Student Matinee General FAQS 1. How many chaperones may I bring? Our ratio is 1 adult for every 10 students. 2. How should I prepare my students for our visit? Prepare your students for your visit to The Broad Stage by attending our Professional Development Workshops for educators. At least one educator from each school must attend the workshop for every arts-based performance. However, it is recommended that all teachers bringing students to the matinee attend the Professional Development Workshop. Remind your students of performance etiquette by reading and reviewing the Performance Etiquette information sent to you a week before your performance date. 3. How should I prepare my chaperones for our visit? Please provide the Chaperone Cheat Sheet to your chaperones before attending a Student Matinee. The Chaperone Cheat Sheet will be emailed to you a week before your performance date. 4. Can we eat lunch at The Broad Stage? Unfortunately, there is no space at The Broad Stage to eat lunch. However, schools may eat lunch at local parks if the trip stays within the 5 hour limit of Broad Stage funded bus trips. Please call Education & Community Programs at 310.434.3560 to find out if this is an option for your school. 5. May we take pictures? Please take pictures and document your fieldtrip on The Broad Stage plaza. Unfortunately, there is no photography during performances. Send us some of your favorites at education@thebroadstage.org! 6. Can we bring backpacks? Please leave student backpacks at school. We cannot accommodate backpacks in our venue.

Cost & Scholarship 1. How much does it cost to attend a Student Matinee with my classroom? Our Student Matinee program is FREE and is offered at no cost to schools and homeschool families. 2. Is there bus transportation funding available? Yes. We want to help your students get to The Broad Stage. Bus funding is available to schools in need to ensure that all students have access to the arts. Contact us at 310.434.3560 for more information about our bus transportation funding application. 3. What is the cancellation policy? We require at least two weeks notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than 14 days of the performance date and/or bringing less than 80% of your reserved attendance numbers will jeopardize your school’s ability to participate in the following year. To cancel your reservation for your Student Matinee performance, contact Education & Community Programs at education@thebroadstage.org or call 310.434.3560. Please include school and district information and reasons for cancellation.
