MUSICAL EXPLORERS The Broad Stage partners with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute to present Musical Explorers, an innovative program connecting K-2 students to the diverse music in our community. To explore music that is part of the fabric of Los Angeles, students are exposed to three cultural styles of music while developing listening, singing and composing skills. This learning culminates in an original interactive play created by The Broad Stage’s Education & Community Programs team in collaboration with the featured local artists. This year, 3,000 students and their teachers will explore the music and cultural traditions of Armenia, Veracruz and the Philippines.
PARTNERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
NAT GEO LIVE National Geographic programs present photographers, filmmakers and scientists who share their art and explorations. To compliment the Nat Geo Student Matinees, we create options for additional excursions that extend a school field trip and deepen learning. Working with such organizations as the National Parks Service at the Santa Monica Mountains and Heal the Bay, students and their teachers journey from The Broad Stage to our science-based partner organizations to create a strong bridge between the arts and sciences.
