LONESOME DOVE THE EXHIBITION
Dear Members, Last year proved to be nothing short of incredible here at The Bryan Museum as we continued to bring Texas history to life through the launch of new lectures, workshops, and events. The excitement of unveiling of one of the most anticipated exhibits to date – The Galveston Orphans’ Home – was palpable, and provided a deeper look into the stories and experiences that took place within our very walls and continue to impact our community. Our great state of Texas was shaped by brave, visionary and resilient individuals whose stories come to life each day at The Bryan Museum. From the heart of Coastal Ranching on Galveston Island to the extraordinary contributions of Tejanos in the Texas Revolution, we continue to connect visitors to our shared history – a history we can all be proud to call our own. As we look ahead to the new year and beyond, we encourage you to dive into the pages of this publication where you will find a seasonal calendar featuring a curated list of unique opportunities to stay engaged with The Bryan Museum including our upcoming April 6 Gala, celebrating Coastal Cowboys and honoring one of Galveston’s most beloved ranchers, Gerald Sullivan. With our 10th Anniversary on the horizon in 2025, you will notice exciting upgrades designed to grow this strong community of history-loving Texans. We heard you when you asked for more educational and social programming, so Thursdays at The Bryan will feature both! From the redesign of our Museum Shop to our new Texas History 101 Lecture series, educational symposiums, and expansion of our Mini Museums, we are eagerly taking a fresh look at what we do best – and what keeps you coming back for more. From all of us at The Bryan Museum, thank you for your continued support. Together, we are inspiring another generation of Texans to proudly see themselves in the annals of the past and stake their claim in the pages of the future.
