still looking for the perpetrators of the massacre after so long. “It is reassuring to know that the enquiry is still ongoing,” he told the press. “There is no statute of limitations in Germany, so if they are in a fit state to be tried, then they should be.” The team is being headed by Stefan Willms, who has 15 years' experience tracking Nazi war criminals. “The investigation will continue for as long as the suspects are alive,” Mr Willms told Le Parisien. The investigation may seem symbolic to many, but to the German investigators it is anything but. When news of the investigation was announced in 2010, it came as a shock, not least to the residents of the town.
