♦ Sentenced to 2 years in prison, with one suspended and a €5,000 fine ♦ Gaillard revealed as a serial liar with a string of convictions behind him ♦ State had asked for 4 years in jail, 1 suspended a police officer, and was wanted to serve an outstanding jail sentence in Périgueux for a previous offence. The 44-year-old had made up virtually every detail on his CV, basing many elements on just a scrap of truth. Perhaps the most bizarre fact in the case is that, according to one source at the airport, “he did an amazing job. He was so good, it leaves you stunned!” Since first being convicted in 1994, Gaillard has spent a total of 2 years in prison for a variety of crimes. In 1996 he was found guilty of falsifying military documents his CV boasts a long and glorious military service history with the Air Force and he claimed in an interview with local press last November to

ean-Philippe Gaillard, the former director of Limoges International Airport, has been sentenced to 2 years in prison, with one year suspended, for fraud. He was also fined €5,000. Mr Gaillard was appointed to the post at the head of the airport in November 2011, but just three months later he was exposed as a serial liar and placed under investigation for falsifying his application form. Jean-Philippe Gaillard had falsified his CV and presented himself with a clean criminal record in order to secure the position.
