he first “undetectable” speed camera mounted on an unmarked police car has entered service in the Limousin. The vehicle is part of a special fleet of unmarked Renault Meganes which are equipped with a radar speed detector installed behind the numberplate and an infra-red camera on the dashboard that takes a photograph without the need for a flash. The equipment will be practically invisible to motorists and virtually undetectable by GPS devices or smart phone apps, and the radar flash will not be visible to the naked eye.
