Sexual Assault Awareness Week

These statistics are important to me because I feel mental health is such a huge proponent of being a healthy adult. On Feb. 13 Campbell made history when it recorded its inaugural television show, Campbell NOW! Sophomore communication studies major and floor manager Sierra Smith said, “The first show had a lot of introductory information explaining how the show would go each week. Since it was the inaugural episode, we did a lot of Campbellthemed things . Smith Valentine’s Day was also a major theme throughout since that’s when it aired. We also had a great interview with the head Goatley-Soan coach of the baseball team because they are in season.” Campbell NOW! is a communication studies taught by Dr. Dean Farmer and Professor Kenny. Students meet for a three-hour class every Tuesday to create the biweekly show. “It sounds like a lot of time for one evening but we actually need more time. Class is a great deal of fun, but it challenges students to reach their full potential,” said Kenny. The first show debuted on

1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives. This is a statistic from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center of Enola, PA. Because of such a statistic, the Sexual Assault Awareness Committee planned Sexual Assault Awareness Week to be held Feb. 18, 19, and 20 to inform students about sexual assault violence. The committee includes Dean of Students Dr. Sherry Hael, Dr. Glenn Jonas, university counselors Christy Jordan and Amy Johnson, graduate assistant of Counseling Services Valerie Hoots, faculty and staff from Residence Life, senior psychology major
