This year's Las Palmas Carnival will continue until Sunday the 17th of February when, following

the ever popular and unique Drag Queen Gala on the Friday night, and the Grand Parade on the Saturday; the traditional 'Funeral and Burial of The Sardine' at Las Canteras Beach will mark the passing of another year's celebration of Spring Rites. This is the celebration of the year and not to be missed. Of course that is not to suggest that this will be the end to the matter, as Carnival will first

head south to Maspalomas and then to Mogán by the end of the month. By the middle of March practically every town and village in The Canary Islands will have had its own celebration of renewal and growth and an end to winter chills, in as much as we ever experience them here in our sunny little archipelago.
