Set to be the sparkliest wedding of the century on the 7th of October 2011, Steve and Tony, Lou and Lol invited the world to, you’ve guessed it, Sparkles Showbar in Playa del Inglés, to celebrate what was being billed as, not only the most glamorous affair of the year but, the first double gay wedding of its type to be held here in the Canaries or anythere in Spain, presided over by the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Steve and Tony met at the end of 1995 when Steve, who’d been married for 23 years, was finalizing his divorce. They took things very slowly, finally taking the decision to get married almost sixteen years after they first met. “Tony
was my first gay love and he’s the love of my life” Stephen told us. Lou and Lol met through their work, and were friends for ten years before they became a couple. They first met Steve and Tony when on holiday on Gran Canaria - Steve recognized Lou as his ex-postie from back home, and they struck up a friendship that has strengthened
