Xtreme Wings N Things Pre-Boone Rally
By: Lincoln Infield
ot summer days make for
great biker parties, and it was hotter than two hells on July 25th for the Xtreme Wings N Things Pre-Boone Party. Brandee and Chad had the parking lot blocked off for vendors, the bike show, and live music, leaving the street for bike parking. It’s always a good site to roll up to see bikes lining the streets shining in the hot sun and that’s exactly what we got!
The bar inside had the AC pumping but was adhering to the occupancy restrictions so Chad put out a mobile bar to make sure everyone stayed hydrated and refreshed in the summer sun. When my wife, Maggie, and I got there the Cowboy Outlaws were on the outside stage cranking out the tunes. These guys know their stuff and put on a good show. It was only noon, but the parking lot party was already jumping. Everyone is used to Xtreme Wings parties being on point. There was a huge tent in the parking lot with Biker Gear & More set up and they were true to their name. The rest of the lot was reserved for the Ride In Bike Show.
The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine partnered with Xtreme Wings and Wolf Mountain Biker Entertainment for the Ride In Bike Show. Registration started at 1pm and shortly thereafter, there were over a dozen showstoppers parked and ready for voting. John Luther of Wolf Mountain Biker Entertainment was running the sound board for the live music, Emceeing the event and had bike show voting running full steam. The voting system was easy, buy a beer, get a white ticket to use as your vote. You can vote as many times as you want, just
The Cowboy Outlaws go buy another beer!
As mentioned before, it was a hot day on the asphalt, so Maggie and I popped inside to cool down and have a bite. We grabbed a booth and ordered up some wings. Xtreme has a good-looking menu, but I have never got past the wings, they are Xtremely good! I get the habanero pineapple sauce every time. That’s the way I get mine and I recommend you do the same! Even with the big event going on, the food and drink
Chad Getting His Birthday Curls In orders were coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner and our favorite waitress “Tater” was on point, as always. There were also some cool vendors set up inside that were worth checking out.
The Cowboy Outlaws finished their set and Guitar Dave & Steve Pegg were setting up, so it was perfect time to count the bike show votes and award the winners. Now, this is a tense time on the lot and all the anxious bike owners are pacing back and forth while the judges count and recount the votes. This is one of those days that I was glad that we didn’t have to pick the winner ourselves. Let me tell you, there was some serious competition out there. there were some partying folks out there that day. The votes ranged from the 20’s to damn near 100 votes for the winning bike. And the Winner is…Danny Varner! Danny rode up on an absolutely beautiful 2002 HD Softail dripping with chrome and a beautiful two-tone cream paint job. Top prize for the day was a feature in The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine and I can’t wait to get a break in the rain long enough to shoot this bike! Congrats Danny!
This party was a dual-purpose party, one celebrating the upcoming Boone Bike Rally, that, unfortunately, had to be canceled and the other was to celebrate Xtreme Wings owner, Chad Torok’s, birthday. I did get a chance to wish him a happy birthday, but as you can imagine, he had his work cut out for
Always a Party In The Parking Lot! him that day with such a healthy crowd on hand. He assured me that at some point in the evening he was going to “clock out” and begin celebrating! Chad is a good dude and works hard, along with Brandee, to provide good times every single week. Hope you got a few minutes to enjoy yourself old man!
The party was in no way over and the second shift of riders came rolling in the evening to rock out with a local favorite SmasHat. We had had our fill and needed to get out and do a little riding to cool down and take advantage of the great roads the triad has to offer. It was definitely a day for the memory book and I’m sure it won’t be the last time we check off an epic party hanging out over at Extreme Wings N Things. Big thanks to Chad and Brandee for putting on a heck of a party, to John and Tina Luther of Wolf Mountain Biker Entertainment for running the bike show and emcee services and to everyone who put their bikes in the bike show. Keep your eye on the Extreme Wings N Things ad and the Carolinas ‘Full Throttle Magazine Cruisin’ Calendar for their upcoming events, you don’t want to miss out on all the fun!
