t was around 40 motor
cycles with over 50 people who met at Springers then rode to Colonial Family Home and Chapel in Madison, NC. He served in the Navy. Honored by all in Martial Arts Do Jo’s. He had 15 nieces and nephews. Nieces, nephews and a cousin were all sorry they couldn’t attend. Then there was his biker family. His close OWB brothers and a few sisters sat behind his martial arts family on the left. His family and friends sat to the right. It was a great service with tears and laughter from family and all who loved him. After the service, everyone went back to Springer’s enjoyed food and drinks. Drinks were covered from 4:00 on, from his best friend Wild Bill Sharp. We will love and miss this wonderful person that touched so many lives. It was a hoot. They played the
Navy song on the pa system with a trumpet. With the American flag carried by two young women and then displayed in the front of the church. Worst trumpet playing ever. Me and Bill Sharp laughed the loudest. He said Ralph would have loved it. The minister said Ralph had his fingers in the holes and was responsible for the awful trumpet playing. It was priceless. The whole place was in a roar with laughter. It was a really old recording. It had the firing and popping of the guns at the end.
Ralph Porfilio-the way we remember him.
