The last days of the Royals begin with Mass and brunch
A large family of Royals and their mothers pose for a picture in the Father Downey Garden. by Sara Eckles Managing Editor (Online) Precious memories and unconditional love. This theme was present throughout the Royals’ Mother/Daughter Mass and brunch where mothers, grandmothers, and other prominent mother figures accompanied their daughters on the last steps of their journey as NDB high school students.
The Sunday morning began with a Mass at the Notre Dame de Namur Chapel, presided by Father John Ryan. Royal Ashley Faro began the liturgy with a beautiful welcome address. Throughout the service, mother-daughter duos, Gabrielle and Jodie Penner, Sara and Lisa Eckles, Isabelle and Mary Way, Sasha Dana and Rose Lorenc, and Maddie and Julie Baumann,
did the readings, prayers, and other liturgical ministry duties. During his homily, Father Ryan reminded the girls that the bonds they share with their mothers is the greatest bond of all. He also said to hold onto that bond dearly. Following the Mass was a brunch, catered by the Epicurean Group, held back on-campus in the Dining Room.

As the year comes to an end, the anticipation is high as students try to patiently wait the last few days of school for summer. However, relaxation and vacation plans are not the only topics being discussed in the NDB hallways. Final exams are a looming presence at the end of every semester, which students dread. With the number of hours required for studying and the assumption that final exams determine one’s future, finals and the weeks leading up to it are stressful ones. Stress is unhealthy for students and affects confidence. Following tips on studying, dealing with stress, and taking care of yourself is
