A small m o t o r to use w h e n the w i n d a n d tide w a s all w r o n g , but for that r e a c h o r d o w n w i n d leg t o put u p s o m e sails. I feel, getting b a c k to the P o u l s b o B o a t , the lines aft of m i d s e c t i o n s h o u l d be r u n just a little flatter. T h e entry a n d f o r w a r d of m i d s e c t i o n are perfect to my w a y of t h i n k i n g , but I w o u l d like to see that e x t r a t w o feet put just b e h i n d m i d s e c t i o n to c a r r y the lines just a little straighter. J u n e a u . B u t what w o u l d they d o i n W h i t e h o r s e for a w e e k ? T h e o b v i o u s a n s w e r w a s t o t a k e the 7-hour d o r y d o w n the Y u k o n R i v e r . T h e i r first boat t r i p a n d it's m a i d e n v o y a g e . . . w o n d e r f u l !

A few d a y s later my friend J i m a n d I put the 7-hour d o r y in the M a c k e n z i e R i v e r a t F o r t P r o v i d e n c e . T h e M a c k e n z i e i s a

big, fast river, p r o b a b l y t w i c e the size of the C o l u m b i a R i v e r .
