Chief Chi-Siak-Ka, known to white settlers as "Indian John," carved cedar canoes at the present site of the Seattle Yacht Club. New Shavings

CLASSIFIED A D S

Feature

F R E E CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING FOR MEMBERS (And Paid Display Classified for Companies) Members of The Center for Wooden Boats are now entitled to complimentary classified advertisements in Shavings - o n e p e r customer per issue, with a limit of 50 words of copy. The only hitch: We must ask that members limit their ads to personal items - we cannot offer free ads to sell company products or services. For those who would like to reach Shavings' 1.200 readers with a commercial message and for those who would simply like to help underwrite the cost of producing our newsletter - we are also offering paid Display Classified advertising. Display Classified ads will be offered, experimentally, in three sizes: Size

C o s t Per Insertion

1 col. x 1 inch (*) 1 col. x 2 inches (*) 1 col. x 3 inches (*)

$10.00 $18.00 $26.00

(*) Width of the 1-column ads will be 2

inches.

Fine Print Details: 1) Shavings editors will compose your display ads, if necessary. All you have to provide is the copy. 2) Line art and or halftones will be accepted, but production charges may be assessed for halftone negatives, stats, etc. if special camera or production work is required. 3) Payment must accompany orders. 4) Production charges, if any, will be

billed upon publication. 5) Display Classified advertisers will receive a 10% discount on all 6 issue (one year) insertion orders, if ad copy runs unchanged during the insertion period. The whole idea is to help offset costs involved in the production and distribution of Shavings. If you own a company involved somehow in wooden b o a t s - b u i l d e r , sailmaker, designer, supplier, bookstore or whatever - this might be a nice way to make a contribution to The Center for Wooden B o a t s . . . a n d at the same time reach 1,200 wooden-boat enthusiasts with your advertising message. If you have questions, please call 283-9166. Send all ads (free and or paid) to The Center for Wooden Boats, 2770 Westlake Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109.
