ZABS Place Chosen To Premiere "Ezra" Movie

June 2024

In a heartwarming display of community and cinema, ZABS Place was chosen as the North Carolina non-profit selected to host the premiere of the touching film “Ezra,” thanks to the dedicated efforts of Caren and Charlie Gale.

The premiere, which took place on Tuesday, May 7, at the Independent Theater House of Charlotte, was not only a night of entertainment but also one of purpose, as all proceeds from ticket sales were generously donated to support ZABS Place. The film “Ezra,” set to hit theaters on May 31, follows the poignant journey of Max, a comedian, as he grapples with the complexities of co-parenting his autistic son, Ezra, alongside his ex-wife, Jenna. Audiences were treated to an emotional rollercoaster, filled with moments of laughter and tears, all while being immersed in the strong sense of community that the film evokes.

Adding to the impact of the evening, a panel of guest speakers took the stage following the movie premiere, offering their insights and further enriching the experience for those in attendance.
