Etro Presents Men’s Ss21 Collection

Live and alive. ETRO presents its Men’s Spring Summer 2021 collection with an informal gathering at Milan’s iconic Four Seasons Hotel. Forever inspired by the world of travel and quintessentially rooted in an idea of extended family, ETRO, paying tribute to the signature Milanese location, portrays the different guests of an international hotel, checking in and out with their peculiar personalities and their wealth of experiences and memories. This season, more than ever, it is not about the final destination, it’s about the journey. Essentials of the fashion house’s creative vocabulary are revamped. Stripes, Madras checks and the unmissable Paisley motif give a distinctive attitude to shirts and deconstructed suits. In keeping with the brand’s continuous commitment to sustainability, ETRO employed eco-friendly fabrics, but also manipulated archival textiles for an exciting upcycling process. All identified by the BENETROESSERE special tag, these unique pieces include patchwork denim pants and jackets crafted from vintage cloths, while shirts are made of eucalyptus yarns and polo shirts are realized in a special textile obtained through the recycling of plastic bottles. The ETRO travelers explore the world carrying foldable totes in archival material and cross-body pouches showing the brand’s signature Paisley motifs. They discover new horizons through the colorful lenses of the new ETRO x CARRERA COLLECTORS EDITION eyewear, a unisex re-edition of Carrera’s iconic Champion aviator style, dating back to the Eighties, in a summery color palette of lemon yellow, intense red, candy pink, forest green, night blue and shiny black.

GIVENCHY PRESENTS THE NEW ANTIGONA BY MATTHEW M. WILLIAMS

In 2021, the House of Givenchy embarks on an exciting new chapter for its emblematic Antigona accessories line. Named after the passionate and courageous Greek heroine, the original Antigona last year celebrated its 10th anniversary as the House’s signature women’s handbag. Iconic for its architectural construction, regal lines and effortless mix of feminine and masculine traits, it has become the foundation for a burgeoning family of sleek, urban leather accessories for women and men. For Spring-Summer 2021, Creative Director Matthew M. Williams reinterprets the icon for a new era, blending his love of industrial hardware with Givenchy hallmarks, subtly infusing the Antigona’s elegant geometry with more generous volumes, a modern attitude and a futuristic edge. Crafted from Box-finish calfskin, the new Antigona salutes its lineage with a scaled-up version of its characteristic pentagonal patch and two signatures — a 4G in front, GIVENCHY lettering in back —evoking the House’s dual character. Luxurious and distinctive 4G padlocks, custom-designed by Matthew M. Williams for Givenchy, are inspired by the celebrated “love locks” of Paris and present an open invitation to further customize the bag as the wearer wishes.

Sophisticated enhancements to the Antigona include reproportioned handles, which are now elongated and anchored lower on the bag’s body to optimize versatility of wear. A roomy central compartment features either a zip or a magnetic closure, both finished with the 4G padlock, while a version of the mini Antigona and the unisex Vertical bag come with a removable strap for cross-body wear, in leather or the new G-link chain respectively. Matthew M. Williams also brought his visionary aesthetic to the Antigona family’s youngest sibling, the versatile, unisex Antigona Soft bag, and gave it a companion in the form of a sleek shopper tote. Now reconsidered with strong, squared lines, drop-length handles and a 4G padlock, these multi-purpose hybrids make a sophisticated statement whether in the city or on the road. In the most masculine interpretation of the style to date, the designer presents the nonchalant Antigona U crossbody bag, also in Box-finish leather, featuring a deconstructed version of the 4G padlock that gives this accessory a unique, urban attitude. The Antigona family of leather handbags will be available in timeless neutral colors or seasonal shades of pink or red. Meanwhile, classic Antigona styles and sizes, in Box-finish or crocodile-embossed leather, are adorned with the new G-link chain.

For Spring / Summer 2021, German luxury fashion house MCM embarks on a journey to the geomorphic, introducing its latest campaign entitled “Techno Jungle”. Inspired by the convergence between natural and virtual venues, the presentation conceptualizes the brand’s travel narrative into an augmented safari where the organic meets the digital. From lush landscapes and techno tundra to multicolored cyber-scenery, MCM introduces a utopian multiverse where fantasy and reality coexist.

Continuing the brand’s homage to the hyperreal, the latest campaign illustrates MCM’s DNA of mobility and freedom through dynamically digitized visuals inspired by the elements. From surreal, atmospheric colors to pastelesque earthen tones, the campaign and collection reference African geoscapes, reminiscent of ethereal urban jungles and evergreen oases. Amidst vibrant colorscapes of otherworldly hues, the latest campaign highlights the collection’s multifunctional and multi-occasion designs through diverse environments which balance night with day, stillness with movement and avatar with persona.
