THE CITY TIMES | CREATIVITY AND ACHIEVEMENTS

SPRING 2 | APRIL 2022

City Students Get Creative This week, some of our Year 8 students composed a song in support of antibullying, playing a range of instruments including the piano and drums as well as writing the lyrics.

Fundraising for Peace Our students worked very hard in the production of badges sold to our student and staff today, with all proceeds going to the British Red Cross’ Ukraine and Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Appeals.

Some of our Year 8 students participated in a Poetry Workshop. They warmed up with a game of ‘categories’ (Adjective, Animal, City). They then used poetic imagery to describe the teaching profession, including Detention Demons, The Late Line Lineruppers and Dream Makers!

City’s Rising Stars

THE CITY TIMES | DEMOCRATIC DISCUSSIONS

SPRING 2 | APRIL 2022

The Student Council Said, We Did. In our 2021 Annual Student Survey, sent out a couple of months ago, we asked for student feedback regarding a number of deliverables in school.

51%

of our

students responded, and many of them highlighted

suggestions for our food provision.

▽ We arranged feedback sessions with our Year 8 student council. These discussions were led by our Student body, Sixth Form Leadership Team.

▽ Their suggestions helped create out new menus for next term!
