Intermediate Film Making Club

It’s never too young to join The Courtyard and these classes for reception - Year 2 are a perfect way of introducing your child to theatre skills whilst making new friends! Courtyard Kids runs on a Wednesday afternoon with Helen Durant. £53 per term

Aimed for those with slightly more advanced skills than our beginners, you will get the opportunity to create your own short film. Places are limited and will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. £70 per term

Beginner Film Making Club

If you’re new to film making this is the class for you. Being part of our crew of young filmmakers, you will learn to direct, edit and even star, in your own short film. Limited number of places available. £70 per term

Youth Theatre

The Courtyard Youth Theatre is a vibrant and popular series of sessions with either David Durant, Kate Ganderton, Ellen Dorsett or Helen Durant. Each term you’ll learn new skills, increase your confidence and have lots of fun! There are limited places available for some of these classes. £58 per term

If you are aged 14 and over and LOVE Glee, you should join our new musical theatre course! Whether you’re more of a Rachel, Kurt or Mercedes singer you’re more than welcome to join. Taking songs from famous musicals such Les Miserables, Wicked and Chicago, you’ll be singing you way past Sue Sylvester’s office! Weekly break-dance classes for children aged 4 – 24 run by 2Faced Dance Led by James Dakers in Company on Monday evenings. partnership with Lights Weestylerz 4PM-5PM 4-7yrs Down Theatre School.

Bringing the Spirit of London 2012 to Herefordshire

Whether 7 or 78 years old, a budding pro or an enthusiastic newcomer. The Lion, The Witch and The Courtyard

Join Lucy as she adventures through the wardrobe where it’s always winter and help her to defeat the White Witch to bring Christmas back to Narnia. Meet Aslan, Mr Tumnus and Mr and Mrs Beaver there, and if you’re lucky, you could become a King or Queen at Cair Paravel. We’ll try to have you home before bedtime though! Ages 6-12 / COST £15

Dancing Tots

These drop-in sessions are a great introduction to dance and movement for parents and toddlers. There is no need to book, but come with bags of enthusiasm!

This course is especially designed for the up-and-coming playwrights of tomorrow. Participants will develop their own playwriting skills.

The Sylvia Short Educational Charity

The Sylvia Short Educational Charity provides funding to cover the cost of transport for Herefordshire schools to attend educational activities at The Courtyard. IN THE COMMUNITY In addition to our venue-based workshops, The Courtyard works in partnership with other organisations to bring a wide range of creative opportunities to communities throughout Herefordshire. Amongst a variety of activities, we run weekly Youth Theatre groups at Fairfield High School and Peterchurch church in the Golden Valley and at Kington Primary School in conjunction with Lady Hawkins Secondary School. Peterchurch Church plays host to these weekly sessions led by one of The Courtyard’s experienced Youth Theatre practitioners. It is open to all abilities, for kids aged 6-12 years who want to expand their creative skills, build confidence or just have a good time.

Jess Mackenzie, Artistic Director for Herefordshire’s renowned theatre company About Face, leads Kington Youth Theatre based in Kington Primary School. This is an amazing opportunity to gain access to some of Herefordshire most forward thinking drama and performance tutoring. Open to all abilities, these weekly sessions are available to both Fairfield pupils and the wider community alike. £3 per week
