WELCOME FROM HEAD OF FILM, SIMON NICHOLLS
As we say goodbye to yet another year and wonder which films will make it into a future ‘classic’ genre we can also look ahead to some great new films on The Courtyard Cinema screens. With Borderlines Film Festival just around the corner why not get yourself in the mood for some challenging World cinema by taking a look at Francois Ozon’s latest By The Grace Of God. Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman finally gets a big screen outing and I am also excited to see Sam Mendes new WW1 drama 1917. Singing and dancing its way in to The Courtyard Cinema is the BFI’s Musical season, celebrating the Greatest Show on Screen. Look out for classics such as Calamity Jane Singalong, Tommy and a dementia friendly screening of Top Hat. We’ve also partnered up with Hereford Cathedral to bring you an extra special singalong screening of The Sound of Music, in the iconic building we all know and love – a unique experience you won’t want to miss. In the spirit of musicals, we are screening the new film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical Cats from the director who brought us Les Miserables. For the romantics among you enjoy a Valentine’s date with the screening of the French musical classic The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg with music by the great Michel Legrand. There really is something for everyone as we celebrate Cinema from all around the world and beyond! Follow our film Social Media accounts for all the latest updates…
