WELCOME FROM HEAD OF FILM, SIMON NICHOLLS

The French Film Festival has found its way as a permanent addition into the film programme here at The Courtyard. If you’ve not been before why not come along and test the water with the very best of new French cinema. All of the films selected are pre-release in the UK. We’ve included Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Woman on Fire (Portrait de la jeune fille en feu) which won best screenplay at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The 27th annual French Film Festival UK starts at The Courtyard Cinema on 7 November. We’re carrying on our Cult Classics with a special 35mm original screening of Easy Rider (18), celebrating both 50 years since its release as well as the life of its star, Peter Fonda, who passed away in August this year. Some other highlights include the highly anticipated Judy (12A); Bait (15) which was filmed with a 1970s 16mm wind-up Bolex camera; the latest gritty family drama from Ken Loach (director of I, Daniel Blake) Sorry We Missed You, and the long-awaited sequel to family favourite, Frozen, just in time for Christmas! Follow our new film Social Media accounts for all the latest updates…
