Ishkur: Thank you for taking the time out of your day to sit with us since I know that you’re a busy guy. How are you today? iPosture: I’m cool man. Thanks for having me Ishkur: Anytime man, it’s no problem. I know that you’re well known in the creating world but for some of our viewers that may not know you, do you mind providing a brief intro about yourself and who iPosture is? iPosture: I’m Shafik (pronounced Sha-feek), from London & I’m just like every other hustler out there. I’m a business student trying to start my own business and a developer in my spare time. Ishkur: Oh that’s dope. What made you want to start developing on IMVU? iPosture: Well I started in ‘06, I was e-banging my first year of IMVU but in 2007 I seen some developers from London killing it and they inspired me. One of the developers was called ColdSoldier.

other than male pose packs, what else do you create? iPosture: Apart from male pose packs, I make male & female avatars and couple poses. I will be working on clothing in the future too as well as female pose packs. Ishkur: What inspired you to focus and start making pose packs? iPosture: Back then I didn’t really have a passion for creating clothes so when I saw a developer named EIGHT08 who was the best pose maker around that inspired me to make poses. So when I started making poses back in 2008, I asked this one dude to model for me. He tried on my pose pack and saw the poses and was like “nah, they’re stiff” and left. I’ll never forget that lmao. It’s like that was one of the reasons I turned into a perfectionist. From then, I took my time with poses. Ishkur: It’s always good to take on criticism and clearly it has made you a better creator.

iPosture: Yeah criticism is good - I love Ishkur: I guess you can say that you “calmed people that are real. I was mad back then down” and moved away from that scene and but now I’m older I appreciate it. began doing something more productive. Ishkur: If it wasn’t for him that soon, it might iPosture: Yeah, I liked how those developers have taken you a little longer to see that. carried themselves. I was so young and they looked so cool to me lol. ColdSoldier gave iPosture: For real. me a lot of advice, taught me how to work with opacity maps and textures and gave me Ishkur: But you said that you’ve been my first 10k which I turned into 70k.. creating since 2007. That’s a really long time - when did you make pro (if you can Ishkur: lol I understand you. I see the remember)? business features are coming into play with your success of doubling your credit income iPosture: Man I quit towards the end of 2009 compared to the initial investment. But having never been pro. I was then on and TC Magazine ©| 19

off IMVU from 2010-2012 and decided to come back seriously in 2013. I saw an old friend of mine named Yoluva/Michigan who I used to chill with in chartrooms since like 2010 - still going strong with his team and after I joined the Crew. Put my head down and grinned for my sales, I finally made pro in like 2013. Ishkur: That determination and motivation finally got you where you wanted to be. But how do you stay motivated to keep developing? I know people retire or create less once they get to that point. iPosture: My motivation is the pay but other than that it’s other developers. I love going through shops and seeing other poses & clothing. Anyone that’s creative inspires me. Ishkur: Throughout the years though, what was the most challenging part of it and your biggest achievement? iPosture: I think it was around the time so many people were boosting. I just couldn’t compete. I used to invite Yoluva like wtf man what should I do to get my sales up? He’d tell me to just keep pushing. I wanted to give up so many times man, trying to outsell boosters seemed impossible. My biggest achievement has to be my first pose pack that blew up because it outsold boosters and I worked so hard on the ads and poses. It sold thousands. I still look back at it to this day Ishkur: I can understand why you would be proud of that. You mentioned boosters got in the way, how do you feel about them and others who steal or copy creators? iPosture: I feel like thieves don’t even deserve to be addressed lol. As for the boosters, I feel like it’s just desperate... Respect is a big deal to me and boosting just isn’t respectable. And as for copy creators, I kinda feel sorry for them because being creative is fun. TC Magazine ©| 20

Ishkur: I agree, they’re trying to find the easy way in. Have you ever been a victim to any of those type of people? iPosture: Yeah I’ve been a victim of thieves; I’ve seen stolen poses in so many shops but thieves aren’t worth the paper. I don’t usually DMCA, I just do my thing and watch them die out. Ishkur: They don’t last very long anyway. I find it only fair that everyone should get where they want to be the right way. I mean; it even relates to the real world - not going to get through life cutting corners. iPosture: That’s the truth. Ishkur: So you joined The Crew around the same time you met Michigan which was in 2010? iPosture: I was a member of ‘Gear breakers’ around 2010 which was initially The Crew in its early stages. Ishkur: So you’re basically like one of the veterans of the group? iPosture: lool yeah you could say that. Ishkur: How do you feel about TC now compared to when you first joined? Like how much has it changed throughout the years? iPosture: A lot of new faces lol. I wanna start off by giving a shout-out to everyone that stayed loyal during the hard times. TC has evolved - The crew is one of the most recognized groups of IMVU, it’s cool to sit back and look at how far the team has come. The crew feels like family and it just keeps growing. The crew has inspired other teams from their names to how they operate which I personally don’t think is a bad thing, I just think to give credit where credit is due. Ishkur: I noticed that only certain members

of the group have chains, what does that represent? iPosture: The chains are like a trophy of loyalty and hard work. It’s pretty iconic. Ishkur: I see. Got to be through the thick and thin to understand that. How long did it take to get yours & how did you feel about it? iPosture: Man I wanted this chain for the longest, I was asking since I first joined The Crew. I think it took me around a year to finally get it and I was hyped. I never took it off lmao

give a shout out to all the real developers out there. I feel like we gotta recognize and support the real developers, I try my best to. And a special shout out to my Crew, I’m blessed to be a part of the team & shout out to everyone that kept it real with me. Ishkur: Well I just want to say thank you very much for this opportunity to interview you once again. iPosture: Thanks for having me.

Ishkur: Lmao, I’m sure you deserved it man, that must have been the best day ever. But other than creating/developing, what other hobbies do you have? iPosture: I like sport & I’m on PS4 often but I’m trying to get back into reading. I like to keep busy - I always wanna be working Ishkur: Sounding very active. But where do you see yourself in a few years? iPosture: If I’m blessed to still be breathing, I can see myself running my own business while working full time - just trying hustle. Ishkur: How do you feel about people that buy your products and support you? IPosture: Man I appreciate every single sale I get. I wanna say thank you to everyone that purchases and enjoys my products and the support I get is amazing. I’m blessed. Ishkur: Finally, what would you say to people that want to start creating and new creators? iPosture: What I would say to any upcoming developer that would listen to me is keep pushing, don’t boost, don’t do that “buy for buy thing” some developers do now, never beg anyone to buy your products and always stay creative and motivated. I also wanna TC Magazine ©| 21

I

go by the name of Marz, got it from being “weird” or an “outsider” on stuff that interest me, “Are you even from earth?”. I have been creating since 2009. I joined Yoluva’s Dev Team, “Gear Breakerz” near the end of 2009 and is still currently in Yoluva’s dev team which is now known as “The Crew”. I’m happily married to my beautiful wife known as HelloArlie aka MrsMarz and have been since 2010. I have one daughter by the name of Gennixo. She’s a sweetheart. I started a few trends not many new members may know me by as. I’m interested in anime and playing video games. I used to enjoy drawing but my creative side moved on to cooking and grilling. I am a night animal, staying outside at night looking at stars as i question many things about life. I enjoy listening to all types of music from the 40’s to disco, rap, and mostly old r&b. I’m a huge fan of history as well as a movie freak.
