The Crypt School Physical Education GCSE PE Programme of Study (POS) 2020-22 GCSE PE Vision Develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin physical activity and sport; preparing them for higher education and allowing students to flourish within the vast opportunities available in the sports industry. Understand the physiological and psychological effects of exercise, encouraging students to analyse, evaluate and apply their knowledge to practical performances. Alongside gaining a deep understanding of the key socio-cultural factors that influence people’s involvement in physical activity and sport. The Programme of Study is based on the delivery of 2 hours a week on Paper 1 and then 2 hours a week on Paper 2 throughout Year 10. There is a different member of staff delivering Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Year 10. In Year 11, each class/set has one member of staff delivering the final topics of each paper as well as completing NEA Practical Assessments as well as exam preparation and revision.
