COVER PHOTO When students and staff returned to the building for hybrid learning on Jan. 18 and 19, they were greeted with newly installed temperature stations and hand sanitizer dispensers, as well as hope for the new year (pg. 4). However, as much as everyone is looking forward, current styles in fashion (pg. 6/7) and music (pg. 8/9), as well as some holiday memories (pg. 10) visit the past. With 2021 approaching, I find myself amazed at how simultaneously slow and fast this past year went. I think we can agree that 2020 is and will probably be one of the hardest years of our lives. That being said, I have made a plan to make my 2021 better. Granted, I cannot control everything, but I would like to try and make the most of whatever situation lies ahead. When setting goals for myself in 2021, I looked back at this year and saw everything that I was supposed to happen, what could have happened, what I wished would have happened. So, I took that and essentially made it my goals for 2021. Some things I cannot duplicate though. You only get one senior year, and all the memories that come with it, but I like to think that perhaps there are even better memories to be made in the future. If I have learned anything from this past year, it is that life is too short and precious to waste. That being said, I have decided to make 2021 a year filled with doing things that I want to do. If that means going to university, then I’ll do that. If that means traveling (if given the opportunity) then I will do that. My point being that we need to spend life doing something we want to be doing. So, to the seniors specifically, the world is waiting for you once we are done here. Make sure you go into it and do what you want to do. We are only young once. Right now is the time to make mistakes, pick a major and change it again and again, go to college… or don’t. There are so many paths to be taken and choices to be made. Lastly, I hope everyone has a safe holiday season and beginning of 2021, make next year the best one yet!
